Just started at a club with high earning potential in VIP rooms. I was under the impression that tipping hosts 10% of your room earnings is normal; more if they helped you out, less if the customer tips them well. Turns out that many dancers at my club are tipping the hosts $100/hour (1/6th of their earnings) regardless of whether they had any part in the sale. I'm new to clubs with hosts and don't know the extent that tipping affects your future income. Do the hosts have enough power that you need pay $100/hour to be on their good sides even if they've never closed a sale for you? Is it worth handing over so much hoping that one day they'll hook you up with billionaires or at least not blacklist you from the best customers?
