    Default My First Two Weeks...

Today began my third week of stripping. So far, I have matched my boyfriend's income, learned 3 new pole tricks, been proposed to once, had roses delivered once, graduated from the chunky 4.5" newbie heels to 6" stiletto heels, discovered the magic of toe-spreaders after a night in said heels, and been asked for my number/asked back to some loser's hotel/been asked, "what do I have to do to take you away from all this?" more times than I can count.

I also lost five pounds, which is awesome.

Gotta say, I like this so far. I'm still not making amazing money - I'd say I'm probably making half of what some of the girls are, but still more than those who just sit in the back.

    Just thought I'd share. <3

It sounds like stripping is treating you well so far. There's certainly a learning curve, so your earnings will likely go up as you hone your hustle and learn what works best for you.

Yeah, I like it so far. The only huge downside is that men in my area seem to ALL be confused about the difference between a stripper and a hooker. Probably because I know for a fact that a few of the girls are doing extras, and I won't. Then they think they can somehow magically talk me into it. And if that doesn't work, they think they can just grab my tits really fast. Then they get pissed when I either, A: move their hands (first offense) B: tell them not to do that again (second) or C: walk out (third offense, or if they're really being a douche). I also ran into a captain-save-a-ho, who gave me a lecture about taking money in my thong, because he was a gentleman and he was going to put his money in my hand, because he had more respect for me than any other guy who came in there. I had to suppress the urge to roll my eyes and say, "You know, I pretty much think of you and every other guy in here as furniture, right? Like a couch I can occassionally find 5 bucks in. I'm not really worried about how much respect you have for me."

Honestly, don't be afraid to just walk away from time wasters like that. They're never worth the effort and will just put a damper on your mood!

Hah, the furniture comment is pretty funny. And while avoiding time wasters is important, theres nothing wrong with actually enjoying yourself with customers. Ones that see you as a real person AND a sex goddess are the best in my experience. Some good old fashioned mutual respect aint a bad thing.

Thats odd bc speaking as a career dancer, I do worry about the amount of respect customers have for me..When u expect disrespect all the time u will bring more upon urself..Its sad when newbies think its expected to receive disrespect from customers..That encourages the disrespectful behavior and which is why many newbies dont quite get the profession..If u act like a lady u will be treated like one more often than a dancer who thinks shes a whore and accepts being treated like one..Many times men will dish out whatever they feel they can get away with...Set standards of acceptable behavior...It will bring u less problems in the long run...

yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!

If girls entering this industry should know one thing, and one thing only... ^^^^^^^^^^^^^

2nd thing would probably be Jane's comment. LOL.

Throw in some sales techniques, improv skills and creativity and you're good to go!

Congrats on your first two weeks. Milk the new girl buzz while you can, but keep your eyes open and keep learning too! It sounds like you're going to succeed.
“The irony of commitment is that it's deeply liberating -- in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around like rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life.”

Oh, I definitely don't put up with real disrespect. But this guy was acting like anyone who even looks at a woman and thinks she's hot is a rapist. I've also noticed that the guys dishing out real disrespect have so far also been the guys who maybe have maybe $15 - $20 max to tip onstage all night, so I just don't bother with them. Even if that wasn't the case, I think I'd rather spend an hour with a guy who is just there to have fun and won't tip as much or buy more than a dance or two, than with a total douchecanon who wants a VIP and gets mad when I tell him that there are rules and he has to follow them.
