Default Switching from a Tumblr based website to an actual website

I currently use my Tumblr as my website. www.jaanaruutu.com.
As you can see, it looks..okay, I guess. I get a lot of hits from tagging myself with things and I have almost 500 followers, but part of me thinks that I should build a !real" website, and then just use Tumblr as a blog. Or, maybe I just need someone to make me a Tumblr layout that looks a little more "professional".

Does anyone else use Tumblr? Does anyone on SW make custom Tumblr layouts?

I wouldn't switch from tumblr since you're doing well there, and unless you want to sell things on you own away from c4s or mgf or whatever I don't know if it will generate much more traffic your way. I have my own website and it hasn't generated a single dime.

I have both a tumblr and a site. I like the website better because it offers a little more customization, and I can analyze my traffic better, see what people are searching for about me, etc. I like Tumblr because it's so easy to interact with and you can get tons of layouts for free/cheap. The downside for me is the influx of dick pics, but then again, I get those to my email inbox too, lol.

Multiple platforms are the key. Since you have a tumblr with so many followers determine how many of them are actual paying customers. Then decide if you want a paysite. Link your tumblr to your twitter and then redirect them to a payment page on your site. Using multiple blogs and linking them together gives you google juice.

I personally like Blogger and used it when I was camming. I'm not familiar with Tumblr custom themes but I'm sure it isn't difficult to learn. I'm always looking for web or graphic work so if you need any help please ask

I have a tumblr and a personal website. I mainly use tumblr to post pictures and promote my website and clips store. My website has a blog and information about camming, skype shows, clips, panties etc. My tumblr page currently gets more views than my website though.

I prefer Blogger because I find it easier as far as uploading banners, widgets, etc. all around the page. On Tumblr I don't know how to do that stuff without it just look like a regular blog post...lol.

You can get some really cool tumblr themes that are organized and free. I look for the ones that have tabs and sidebars that allow java script. That way I can add a yim button or a niteflirt button. The thing with blogger is I know of a few people that have had their blogs shut down. Eventhough they had the adult warning on it. I wonder how bad it has to be before they pull the plug on you? I havent used any of my bloggers in awhile. I should probably check on them?
