For those in LA, you've probably already heard what happened @ Sam's Hofbrau on Sunday...

Sam's is a really popular topless club in the area, notorious for being consistently loaded with gangster type customers, but popular nonetheless. I work @ a club that's in direct competition with them (if you work @ Sam's and they find out you also work shifts at my club, they'll fire you; my club on the other hand does not care [and they shouldn't, see "independent contractor"]) and word is that this spot is getting shut down real soon. For all of January they had their alcohol license suspended. They were also recently raided and LE confiscated a shitload of guns/knives from the customers, and supposedly a dancer was stabbed not too long ago (here-say, but not terribly surprising). If they don't get shut down via city council they'll for sure go under with the huge lawsuit that these legless dudes are very likely going to file.
This article says that the driver will get 5 years, I doubt it. This was fuckin gruesome. Seriously, what state of mind do you have to be in to execute that?? I can only imagine being in the parking lot when it happened. So so so sad. I saw a pic circulating around Instagram from a customer who was there and it was bad -- bones/blood spilled all over the front of the Mini, and a clearly CONSCIOUS man with his tibia broken at a 45 degree angle.
I'm not familiar with Sam's or their management, but I definitely do not support catering to customers like that en masse. I understand that it is LA and gangsters will do what they will, but keep it on the streets, not around the club. Management pretty much provides a stomping ground for that kind of violent activity and puts the safety of their dancers at risk. If you work there, I'd really like your input on this whole thing, and I hope for yours and your money's sake that if they do get shut down that you find a club that takes care of you...
