Default Fast cures for rash from allergic reaction?

So I came home from work to find that I was out of make-up remover wipes and decided to use a "sensetive skin unscented" baby wipe on my face instead (stupid). It worked just fine and felt and looked ok so I did the same thing agian the next night but this time it kinda burned and when I woke up in the morning my eyes were totally swollen and the skin around them was all rough and scaly and red this was yesterday and I was *supposed* to work yesterday but I decided I would wait for it to go away. It's still there and I HAVE to work tonight! I tried putting makeup over it but it's all dry and scaly and even my heaviest foundation couldn't make it look normal. This has happened to me before with scented products so I know it will go away in a few days but I have to go to work this weekend. Anyone know of anything I can do to speed up the process or at lest make it look slightly better/coverable??

I had a horrible reaction to a bit of scented lotion on my neck a while back and the quick fix for me was hydrocortisone cream.

Sidenote about hydrocortisone cream: it's a miracle worker for a lot of minor skin conditions, but I had a really bad reaction. I was using it to clear up exercise related breakouts: it was all healed and I wanted to get the redness out quickly, Visine wasn't working and it was all over my ass/upper-back thighs, really gross. My doctor prescribed it.

Two days later, I started getting perioral dermatitis around the sides of my nose and mouth. It's dry, itchy, red patches that take a lot of no-make-up time to clear up... which in the industry is obviously a problem. Once you've had it, you're more likely to have it again and it tends to affect white women in their 20s. There's not a lot of literature on the link between topical steroids and perioral dermatitis, but there's a lot of people talking about their experiences with it online.

If you're young, white and have sensitive skin/have any kind of history of inflammation, be sure you're monitoring it closely so you can stop right away and avoid the problems I had.

I know your problem has been solved, but there is also Diphenhydramine. It's the active ingredient in Benadryl, but store brands are the exact same thing only cheaper. It's a common OTC antihistamine that's great for allergies, itching, sleeplessness, etc. Topical Benadryl also has hydrocortizone in it. When you take both together, it attacks the problem from both sides. While the hydocortizone resolves the visible problems the diphenhydarmine clears the issue up internally.

I even give my dog half of a caplet in his treats when he gets super itchy (he's allergic to grass) that's how safe it is.

Diphenhydramine yes! I just had a horrible reaction that required steroids to help my inflammation but before I got to the doctor I was all benadryled out!
