Default Is there such thing as a "head dancer"?

On my quest to look for a more profiterable club, I got into an older club I tried out before that now happens to be under new management (this club is not in Austin, but in the Fort Hood area). To my surprise, they have a so called head dancer that is supposed to be in charge of schedules (which is useless because the only "schedule" they have is to come to work four days and that's it), and things that are either managed by a house mom or an assitant manager. The problem with this? is that this so called "head dancer" think she's running the show and likes to be condescendent towards all the other dancers.

I can see two sides to this; first is maybe they are trying to give the dancers a middle person between them & management. Give the dancers a feel that they have someone on their side. The sad reality is just like most management positions, she may use this to her advantage & play favorites.

It's rare, but "head dancers" certainly do exist. I avoided working at one club because I knew they had a head dancer in charge of scheduling and such, and I heard it was the exact same situation as you described: she thought she was Queen of the Club and always used her "power" to her benefit, often playing favourites and making it difficult for the competition to make money. Unless you're in the good graces of the head dancer, it's a PITA. Next club!

^I'm just doing this weekend and after that back to Austin. Despite that the earning potential is much bigger in this club than in the clubs I was trying out in Austin in the previous weeks, the drama and stress aren't worth the extra cash flow. Why? That's extra money I have to spend on co-pays for mental health docs, while driving to/from Austin a day is like ten-fifteen extra bucks for gas (not a big deal).

we used to have one at my club..sort of. im not sure what exactly she was in charge of but i was told " here is so and so. she will answer all of your questions, help you out, etc. listen to her". i never had a problem with her ( although a lot of girls said she had a huge attitude of superiority), but i can imagine what a shit storm an already drama filled club full of females would be if one of the dancers were the "head dancer" talk about adding fuel to the fire. bad idea.

I do at my club, and it seems to work really well. It's nice having someone around who can relate to you and not give the normal creepy manager guy vibe. She's sweet and not really outwardly competitive. It seems like she makes a point to encourage everyone and give advice or help with pole tricks. If you had someone in charge with a bad or catty attitude though it would probably make life hell

I worked a little club once and a dancer that dated the owners son kinda put herself in charge of managing the girls to some degree. What to do or not to do.
Anyhow a dancer was asking me where else i worked and i told her. Next thing i know i am being told that my the offical manager that i cant talk to other clubs. Heres where the hippocracy begins this dancer along with the owners son comes to my other higher end club to see how they can russian girls come to their club and had the nerve to ask me....lol..... i directed them to the manager who kindly directed out of the club.

To me its not a good idea to put competition in charge of each other causes way to much problems.

I could see a "head dancer" being a good liaison between dancers and management but I also feel like it could get ugly quickly, although that can be true of house moms too!
