Default How to Rid Myself of a Self-Sabotaged Mental Block?

I know I need to earn a few hundred by the end of this week to make rent. That thought sticks in my head like a hatchet that I can't get out. I was procrastinating a LOT last night, and when I finally got on cam, I felt stiff, uncomfortable, awkward and unsexy. I already had a defeated attitude before I logged on "Oh, who wants to spend money the night after St. Patrick's Day"? Every custie that came into my room, I had already made up my mind that they were NOT going to buy a show or pay me gold.

Dammit, I HATE IT WHEN THIS HAPPENS. It seems to be more prevalent whenever I'm under pressure and need to have a certain amount of money by a deadline. I guess I could do C4S, but I haven't done clips in months, and I can't log into my store (I opened up a Support Ticket last night). I was thinking about trying out Giantess clips for the first time because I'm tall and have a rather large frame for a woman. But those payments don't go out until the 7th anyway.

Okay, rant over. Advice and tips appreciated!

I'm like that a lot. For me it helps to not focus on the amount of money I need, and thinking "I'm just going to go on for an hour and say hi" instead. Oh and blasting music that makes me happy

Ok for me worries about money while I am on cam is the kiss of death for me....if I am think that I need to make 300 by the end of the week and every time I log on cam that is all I think about is the money the I need I will not get... It is like guys can smell the need and desperation that you are felling.... It is that underline emotion of desperation that is showing throw on cam....

What I do when I get like that is trying to working on just loging on and having fun... I think that when I log on to my camming I am going have as much fun as I can..... Even if that mean I am laughing at the guys because it so slow...If I focus on having fun the money will come.

Also try just to log the hours that you need with a smile on your face..

I would also see if you could give you self more time on rent or come up with a plan b so you are not out of luck..

300 by the end of the week?
    Look at it his way...
You have 4 days til Friday including today.
    Thats $75/day minimum
I don't know what site you're on or your circumstances but lets say pessimistically you earn Even $10/hr on cam and I'm betting you earn more....that's 7hrs a day... You can split that into 2 3.5 hour shifts or 3 two hour shifts to make it feel like you barely even worked.
    Goal reached.

Just sit down write now and draw out a schedule and stick to it no matter what.

Thank you! Looking at it logically really helps.

No problem! Honestly it's the only thing that helps me...
I have a lot of anxiety about camming, always thinking "omg what if I get on and today is finally the day the money stops.."

    Same!

Sometimes in addition to calculating the amount that I need to make that day, I will also calculate how many minutes I need to be in private chat to reach that amount. If it's an unusually high number I write down the amount and the minutes on a small post-it and put it up on my laptop. So if I want to make $100 in one shift, at my cut that works out to 40 minutes in private chat, and I think to myself, "Hey, that's only four good shows." It feels doable.

I also take the total amount I need/want to make and divide it by the number of days I have to do it in. So like in Missbeth's example, if I want to make $300 in 4 days it's onlt $75/day. Pretty easy. If I decide to be lazy and not work today I'll only have 3 days, which means I'll need to make $100/day, which doesn't feel as easy as $75 so I'd rather just suck it up and work

I've also been in a huge rut lately, haven't worked since last week. Burnout sucks, man.

Lately I have been feeling this way too. I was only able to get on cam today after a 4 1/2 day MIA. It was so bad that every time I went to turn my camera on I would start yawing and say to myself... oh well I cannot yawn on camera. So I would fall asleep as an excuse not to cam. I let myself fall asleep for 15 min. and I have been able to muscle though 3 hours and actually had fun (which usually ends up happening even though I think it will not). I thikn oh no what am I going to say to them, what if no one talks to me, i do not want to just sit there and look bored, oh no...anxiety strikes.

I knew I had a mental block so I watched a short video last night. Maybe it helped because I feel a lot better today and actually got on cam today. I did the silly exercise.......

I am about to do another round. I am doing 3 - 2 hours sets. I figure if I cannot make it 2 hours I need a new line of work. 1 hour flies by.
Today I said to myself, the first 30 min are my warm up and lets see what happens so I am not to frustrated if nothing happens. Usually an hour has past since I looked at the clock and I have had a few privates to my surprise... then tell myself ONE MORE HOUR, JUST ONE MORE and you can stop if you wish.

You can do it! Sometimes I log on with the attitude that it's just an hour, the first 30 minutes don't even count. I don't know why that is, because once I get going I really have fun. Even if it's a bad day I usually figure that those "pay for" the good and keep the long goal in sight. Wish I could override my silly brain.

I've found if I wake up and have an awesome, productive start to my morning, I'm more likely to earn more and have more energy on cam. My routine the past couple wks (and I swear nearly every day I do this I have made over $500.. no joke.) -

    *Wake up
*Drink a glass of water and have a piece of fruit
    *Yoga for 15 min
*Cardio/strength work out for 25 min
*Eat a healthy green smoothie (or other light but filling healthy breakfast you choose. Fruits/veg in the beginning of the day will give you great energy!)
*Spend 15 min meditating and or visualizing. Picture yourself at the comp, logged into cam, and literally see the money rolling in in your mind. LITERALLY picture x amount of tokens popping up, or a $$$ payment coming through. Picture yourself being busy, in a PAID cam show the entire time of your shift, and imagine a smile on your face. Tell yourself it's easy. Making money is easy. Tell yourself how much $ you're going to make. It might sound silly but it really gets you pumped and fills you with the positive energy you need to make it through the day.
    *Get ready and do it!

Don't forget to give yourself short breaks to recharge if you need them. One thing I have been doing is reading books or info that will help me earn more, but something I enjoy so I can get away from the comp screen for a bit but still be productive.

Just push the negative thoughts away because they are only holding you back. GL!!!

I finally got around to watching this video and was amazed. I'm really going to try this and see how it goes. Thank you for sharing.

Keep a consistent schedule. I can't tell you how many times when I was in the corporate world, I dreaded going to work but still showed up. Always got my vanilla salary every 2 weeks too. I try my best to take the same amount of days off each week (minus vacations) if not the same day off each week - just like the mentality of working for the weekend of a vanilla M-F.

    1. Show up. Be timely. Advertise your schedule. You'll be shocked at how many customer's come find you during your normal business hours without any effort. Humans love routine. Simple psychology.
    2. I reward myself in other non $$$ ways. Being able to watch TV/Netflix when it's slow, taking a break anytime during the day to go to the gym/workout, able to surf the Internet ONLY when I am already fully ready to cam so I don't miss any shows.
    3. Make daily/weekly/monthly goals. (I do weekly and monthly $$$ and time logged in goals.)
    4. Drink a lot of water, try to get on a regular sleep pattern, and eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Makes me feel so much better!
