Exclamation Scientists Discover Unsightly Viral Infection Spread Through Shaving or Waxing Pubic

    http://www.alternet.org/personal-hea...ving-or-waxing

A new study has revealed that by shaving or waxing downtown, people can give themselves a viral infection.A dermatologist in Nice, France noticed that many of his patients who were coming in with the molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV) in their genital region had removed their pubic hair. The dermatologist, Dr. Francois Desruelles, MD, then began researching the correlation, and he found that 93 percent of his 30 patients of both genders had removed their pubic hair in some fashion — 70 percent shaved, 13 percent clipped and 10 percent waxed. Desruellespublished his finding on Monday in the British Medical Journal.MCV is a pox virus spread via skin-to-skin or sexual contact as well as sharing certain items like towels. The virus causes pearly, dome-shaped papules on the infected area. The bumps are not painful and frequently go away on their own, though the virus can be treated via over-the-counter medications or other treatments.
Desruelles wrote that he believes many people are giving themselves the virus, let’s say, by shaving a MCV bump on their legs and then using the same razor to shave their pubes. He also noted that shaving causes tiny abrasions that could make catching MCV from a sexual partner that much easier. If you do develop MCV bumps and still must shave, Desruelles noted to shave around the bumps, not through them.According to the L.A. Times, the researchers wrote, "Pubic hair removal is a body modification for the sake of fashion, especially in young women and adolescents, but also growing among men."They suggested the trend of pubic hair removal may stem from pornography, a desire for more sexual sensation, "an unconscious desire to simulate an infantile look" or "a desire to distance ourselves from our animal nature." Though reasons may vary, people’s increased desire to maintenance the lawn may have a detrimental affect on their health.
A lot of my customers don't really mind that much when I don't shave. I find that it's only the whiney younger guys(around my age) who make a big fuss over body hair.

Ugh, I just image searched what these bumps look like and now I'm sure I won't be eating for a while...but I too have found that my best customers aren't all up my ass about my pubic hair, and they are usually older. When I was stripping it seems like the older guys liked a little hair and the young ones wanted me to be completely bald. I fleetingly wonder what their pubes look like.

But I make more money on guys that like pubic hair. I think it comes down to choice and I don't think you should shame girls who choose not to shavfe.

Lol...are camgirls strippers? IDK. There are plenty of customers who appreciate anything from a full grown bush to a pencil thin landing strip. Camming is great because it allows for that flexibility, and accommodates the fact that each individual girl has jurisdiction over her pussy hair. Not everyone wants the permanent solution and expense of laser removal.

This doctor based a study on 60 patients only? It's tiny number, too tiny to draw medical conclusions.

I wish I could grow my leg hair/pubic hair out but I can't go longer than 2 days without shaving! It makes me feel dirty and the stubble really bothers me. I am really hairy though soo I have to keep up with it!

My girlfriend got this a year ago by going to a public spa. The bumps are really painful to her and she's so embarrassed she hardly has sex with her boyfriend who was like "whatev, if I get it I get it but I'm not going to stop dating you."

What are some over the counter remedies I can recommend to her?
I feel really bad for her. We all went as a group and she was the only one who
caught it. Obviously I'm glad I don't have it but still, that's really shitty luck and she's
had it for like a year. I read up on it and it's really common in kids who go to pools.
I'd never heard of it before this but I was surprised by how common it supposedly is.

While I won't argue with anyone's decision to have any amount of hair, this is somewhat misleading. Shaving and waxing does not "cause" this infection, it merely increases the likelihood that if you have the infection already (and it could be spread through any number of methods, not all of them sexual), you may develop lesions in the pubic area. Don't share razors and be sure to monitor the sanitation of any spa you go to.
Someday I'll get this Twitter thing right.

that's a little disturbing..but not disturbing enough for me to stop shaving! i am die-hard, no hair from the neck down kinda girl lol. its just my choice, and my preference i feel its cleaner, prettier, and all that hair just hides my beautiful lady parts you just have to be careful to keep it clean and uninfected and don't remove it in a rough way..for me its just like shaving my arm pits and legs, done it every day for 13 years..
i have nothing against other girls if they don't shave though, at all! i think its GREAT that a lot of guys love it! spice of life lol.

Look if on cam a girl wants to grow out a full bush or even a mustache because it makes her money--good for her. I still am not a fan of those who are extra bushy & alot of clubs will not hire dancers who are unwilling to atleast trim it. It's kinda an industry standard like wearing heels on stage. Ofcourse camming you can do in socks so that's different.

However claiming that hair removal will cause MCV and complaining about whiney younger guys who have a longer lifespan to be your future customers without worrying about them dying off still will not connivence many to start growing public hair. As for the cost in this industry it sort off pays for itself. Now a days 6 seasons that cost 250 will cover both downstair and pits which over years of a dancers career would save tons on razors or nair or waxing so that's highly cost effective if you think of it that way.

Hair or not hair is still a woman's choice, but I know what I prefer and recommend for dancers which solves this problem of razor bumps unless they share their stuff or go rubbing up on others w/Mvc.

I respect that you don't like younger guys who prefer women bare down there cuz it doesn't work for you which is your personal opinion, but I have mine where I agree with them in terms of preferences especially on strippers as if it's growing out of her g string then more then likely it's too long to be accepted in alot of clubs.

Ofcourse it's a personal matter, but I like the current trend of permanent hair removal how it looks & feels so we can agree to disagree on personal preference all you want. However I am still not wrong about what is a given part of the industry when it comes to full bushes at many stripclubs.

I'm not shaming any woman other then those that grow a chia pet amount of hair down there and want to be strippers a little cuz i find that it won't work for getting hired at most clubs I know of, but I did not shame any1 more then you picked on male customers who are younger and have the same preference I do so lets not claim a higher less judgmental stand here.

As for MCV it sounds way to ez to get to completely prevent and it goes away soo I wouldn't stress it too much aside from maybe not using a razor under infected areas and sharing anything w/ any1 when it comes to certain areas on your body which should be a personal care standard.

In some areas strippers are required to have pubic hair to work at full nude clubs, while at others you can be fined for having hair out of your g string.

As for the infection and whatnot, well, that's just terrible.
