    Default henna help

im wanting to fill in some of more of freckles ( just got a few permanently tattooed on) with henna. brown with a slight reddish tinge. i hear that it will last 2 weeks or more depending on how often you wash. i do oil cleansing on my face, would that be worse for fading? and i know walmart and michaels sells henna but i hear its not very good quality. anybody have any suggestions for good quality henna and after care?

    I would just use eyeliner.

But if you really want to try henna on your face, look at health food shops, herb shops, and head shops.

Do you have any Indian Grocery stores in your area? My veggie store always has henna and mehndi products behind the counter. Mix it up with some tea and lemon juice and you are good to go. For small dots just use a toothpick. You don't need a tube or anything special... those are for the intricate stuff.

Also... I need to see pics of your freckle tats. I think it's such a cute idea.

I used to use Body Art Quality henna for my hair. I purchased it from http://www.mehandi.com/shop/hairhenna.html Great vendor.. for anyone who can't get to an Indian market.

You can try to google and find an Indian grocer near you, I know Patel Brothers is a huge chain and they usually carry henna powder and henna tubes for easier drawing. It comes in shades of green/black and orange/reddish but the powder/liquid form is always green/brown. The longer you let it dry before you peel it off, the darker it will be and longer it will last. After you put it on, rub a lemon over it and stand over some heat and let it dry out more which will make it darker and longer lasting also. Also, I hate the smell of mehndi so you might want to see if you can tolerate it before applying it to your face.

It might if you buy the wrong color! You probably want something that specifically says Red Henna Mendhi and possibly Natural but probably not Black Henna because that might turn out way too dark. The label should state what color it is but always test some on your palm first to double check! I'd also put some different dots on your hand and let them dry different amounts of time so you can decide what color shade you want.

No it won't be green.... the mix is green but it dyes stuff reddish/brownish and fades to an orangey color. If you have any qualms, just do a test on a your foot or something. No big deal.

i read that on the face is doesn't take well, if at all, and fades twice as fast because its such thin skin compared to the feet and hands? my tattooed freckles are looking like little zits, its pretty bad when you can't tell which is which lol. but then its only been 5 days, will it turn browner??right now i've been in the dumps pretty bad today because of how bad they look and im freaking out trying to get back in there so he can do them darker. should i just wait? they aren't peeling anymore, i know its early but they look pink as hell.

is the best website for henna I have found! I use it in my hair every few months to help it grow and to make it redder (i have brown/auburn hair to start with) use body-art quality. the site also has great info (the author wrote her dissertation on henna!). It doesn't last as long on skin that doesn't have much callous to it. Mostly people apply to palms and soles of feet. But will stain other skin too!
