    Default Help with my taxes!

I didn't earn very much last year. Under 4000$. I did an online estimate and it said I should get back $120 because I am a student too. Something about the cost of living being like 5000 and something and the cost of school like 3000 and something. Anyways I saved all of my receipts and I wanna go to a professional to do a long form. Do you think that this is right? That I will actually be getting money back? I am confused as this is my first year filing alone. Thanks for any help!

Sounds accurate. An accountant might be worth it though.

much depends on whether or not you are still considered to be a 'dependent' of your parents for tax purposes. if so, then your parents will get the tax exemption and the tuition tax credit, and you will wind up paying in 15.3% of the $4,000 you earned last year in the form of Social Security tax.

    I'm not a dependent.
