Default Stripper heels & ankle straps

So, I have been wearing the heels with with ankle straps the entire time I have been dancing, due to the fact that I have a tendency to get wild on stage and I'm afraid of them flying off! However, I am now starting to realize that I like the look of the ones without the ankle strap a lot better and am thinking of making the switch over. So my question to people who have danced in both is, are they that different? I'm afraid of going and spending 80 dollars on a pair of heels I don't like.

    Nah.

I thought they would be and was really reluctant to buy ones without the strap, but as long as they are a snug fit you should be good. I do pole acrobatics sometimes and my shoes have never come close to flying off.

I hate straps! FWIW, if you order online, you can get them for way cheaper than 80$.

Sometimes I buy the ones with no ankle straps. Then I use some elastic hairbands to keep them from flying away.

I've danced w both and prefer no ankle strap. Just make sure the toe strap is secure and snug around your foot

Looks like I'm kinda alone here on this because I don't like wearing shoes that don't have ankle straps! They appearance is nice but when I'm wearing them all I do is constantly worry that one is going to fall off. It's happened before while I was on the pole. Luckily it didn't fly off somewhere, it just slid off and landed directly under me on the stage floor. Sometimes when I'd be climbing up the pole I'd secure them before I did any pole tricks because they'd feel loose. Maybe it's because my feet are slender. All my dance shoes have ankle straps but I still had to adjust the ankle strap for most of them and puncture new holes in them so they would fit my feet; they were the correct size and fit the length of my foot but the ankle part needed adjusting to make them secure.

you need to get it super snug like selina said, i always try them on and usually get a size smaller than my regular shoe..i hate ankle straps, they look so akward and newbie for some reason lol, not bashing on people who wear them at all, i just love the sleak look of strapless. unless you are wearing kitten heels which are super cute

I do remember when I had my pair of heels that didn't have an ankle strap, they were really convenient... it's annoying having the buckle up the strap. And when I had the strapless ones when the night was over I could slip right out of them much faster. But I've been picky with my dance shoes and would rather not have to have to worry about them slipping off even becoming an issue... I always get the same style, 7-inch clear with clear ankle straps.

Thank you guys for all of the input! I think I am going to try on a pair, walk around in them and decide from there. If they feel like they are nice and tight on my foot then I'm gonna go for it.

Once I climbed to the top of a 16 foot pole flipped over and my shoe flew clear across the club. Fortunately the club was dead (which is why I was on the top of the pole in the first place lol) but never again will I not have my shoes strapped to my feet on stage XD

When I do get shoes without straps I always end up using garters or scrunchies to keep them on my feet.

So, I'm really glad I tried them on before ordering! I tried on 2 pairs and it turns out that my feet are super narrow and the toe strap was so loose it was like awkwardly sticking out while on my foot. I'm bummed but glad I tried them!
