I'm in an "informal nonfiction essays" class at school that is like a writing workshop. I'm in a class with around 20 something people. An assignment we have is to write a paper at least 5 pages long (double spaced) and distribute it to the class so that everyone can peer edit and review it. It's getting close to the end of the semester and my paper is due for April 20. Everyone in my class has been writing very deep, personal papers. One girl wrote a ten page paper about her being a 'tweaker' and finding God and how she is clean and sober now (one example). It's just influenced me to write something more personal rather than a boring 5 page paper about something not very interesting. So I was contemplating writing my paper about my experiences dancing. I was thinking of finding a unique way to write it, though. Like, not actually writing the words dance or strip. I thought it could be a really good paper if I really put a lot of work into it. Do you think this is a bad idea? I think it really depends on how I write it. I thought it would be good if I left it a little ambiguous until the very end so no one is able to judge me until they've finished it, lol. I think I'm a good writer if I put some effort into it.
So I guess I'm just asking if you were in this class and given this assignment would writing about your experiences dancing be out of the question? Or do you think it could be an interesting paper for other people to read who have no idea what being a dancer is like.
(btw I don't know any of these people and highly doubt I will cross paths with them again lol I mostly keep to myself at school anyway)
