    Default Stamina

Okay so you guys are so fucking good at this stuff. Full disclosure - I'm lazy. I keep in decent shape from dancing and I'm naturally relatively slim (with implants lol). I do some squats and lunges, crunches and hand weights and it works out provided I eat well which I usually do. However, I have just realized that even with dancing (I'm in an upscale NYC club which means no crazy stage work or pole tricks) my stamina is nothing short of pathetic. I am dating a very fit man and it's getting embarassing because he really has to do all the work in bed because I get tired!! So lame....

So, I want to start to build my stamina and get kick-ass FIT by fall. I would be really grateful for your recommendations. A few criteria, however....laugh or scoff as I am sure you will, but:

    1. I don't want to join a gym - I tried and I just don't go. Don't live near one so practicality first. I prefer something that I can do at home or outdoors.
    2. I don't really want to run because my knee hurts a little from work.
    3. No chlorine, sports teams or classes.
Ideal scenario would be an equipment-free work-out I could do at home, or I'd love to find a work out DVD - any recommendations?
    4. Any supplements for stamina (excepting coffee, speed and red bull)

LOL maybe I am asking the impossible but I'd love to hear any ideas.

Yeah, I hear ya, I'm kinda thinking along the same lines..I have a lamminated card w/some yoga poses on it..also I saw some interesting excercises in Mar. issue of Cosmopolitan, I was waiting & just glanced through it, so I didn't have a lot of time, but they looked great, for the lower body which I need.

netflix has workout vids, and youtube has a ton that are fun and easy to find.

and you don't need to buy stuff-- you can get gallon jug containers for weight and I'm pretty sure a gallon of water is 8 pounds.

do you have any stairs near you that you can run? stairs are great for cardio and balance.

I understand not wanting to travel to work out (if a gym is close by it's easy, but it can be discouraging otherwise). Non high impact exercises I enjoy and that tone/increase stamina are mat exercises like Pilates and Yoga (like someone else said).

And for cardio I love Zumba (and other dance based workouts) and swimming. If there's a pool close by-hire it out! Swimming is great cardio and will be good for your injuries too. Work out DVD's that you can do at home are great, and You Tube is good for this too. I personally love Tracey Anderson.

Also, do you have a dog? Even long walks can help and your pup would love you for it lol.

If you have done weights in the past (Idk if you can do them with your knees the way they are etc), maybe order some or create a home gym (it would be cheaper in the long run than a membership and you would have no excuse not to use it ).
