Default A worthy cause for cam girls -- are you sure it's silicone?

We've been following HaydenBlue's advice on sex toy safety, right? https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...and-Toy-Safety

With that in mind, Dangerous Lilly, a sex toy reviewer and general sex-positive geek, is starting a campaign to prove to toy manufacturers that their toys are not as safe as they think they are. Her belief is that the Chinese manufacturers are sending the companies initial runs of pure silicone toys, and subsequently cutting corners by adding elastomer and other substances to the silicone. The company thinks they are putting out a quality product, when in fact the toys are not as pure as they'd been led to believe.

Unfortunately, a few companies that she has pointed this out to have essentially ignored her or called her a liar. As a result, she's attempting to raise money to run actual chemical composition tests and force them to pay attention. It's not a massive amount, just $200 for the test, but we all know how tight money can be. I thought perhaps I could bring this to SW's attention, since we rely on the quality of our toys far more than the average person and can certainly stand to benefit from improved standards in the sex toy industry.

Someday I'll get this Twitter thing right.

Actually, even silicone is reactive in the human body despite many surgeons saying its not (its the hard shell around implants).

I can only use glass toys, but I use other ones as props.

You can do a cheap test at home: run a lighter over an area you don't might getting a mark on, and if its pure silicone it should not melt and leave a soot mark that wipes away. A fundraiser to test several brands would be worthwhile though and we could pass the info around on blogs. Is it going to be a kickstarter? cause non sex workers can view that and pledge just out of curiosity.

oops. elastomer is a synthetic rubber? Its burning point is around that of silicone? Well if there are other substances in it, the trick will work... but unfortunately since people have latex allergies I'm sure they go for vulcanized rubber before natural latex from the rubber tree.
