Dance shoes are made for long wear. They do take time to get used to. There is some trail and error when finding a shoe that works best for you.

^^ That. They all take time. I found that Ellie and Pleaser are both good as far as not having sore soles, but you're going to get a few blisters from the top pieces rubbing your toes no matter what. You can try melting it with a lighter to soften it though.

IMO, Pleaser 6 1/2 inch heels with straps are comfy (for me personally, the 7-8inch or the clear plastic ones cause me more discomfort and bigger blisters).

I've always worn pleaser 6-7 inch shoes. I find they hurt for the first few shifts but once they're worn in they're super comfy. Heating them with a hair dryer and stretching the material always helps if they're rubbing a bit at first.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

Pleasers (the brand of most of the clear shoes you see) are made specifically to support your foot while dancing long periods of time. I wouldn't recommend any other type of shoe. I love my Pleasers! I recommend the "adore" collection, I find them extremely comfortable.

Tony's 901 were my favs. Love em. Plus if there are stairs in your club you don't have to worry about kicking them off while going up/down.

I always put the clear plastic dr scholls inserts in mine and it makes them 1000x more comfortable, I have to cut them so they don't hang off the edge but I love them, I never get the clear plastic straps that go over the feet because I find they seem to tear much easier than the black, white, or colored ones

Ditto the "adore" collection. I've tried many different brands and designs, but the "adore" designs are by far the most comfortable. I wear these for 5-10hours. They're great!

Oh and the plain clear ones you asked about....many different designs come in clear, but I'd recommend avoiding the "taboo" design. I bought them and after 4 hours they were seriously cramping my feet. The straps are also very stiff compared to the "adore." The "sky" design is pretty comfortable for a few months, but after they are broken in I can't wear them for more than 4 hours. Also, the straps are HUGE. I had to remove the insole and reduce the size of the straps by an inch. My feet are also wide, so I'd avoid the "sky" design unless you have large, very wide feet.

Also, the "adore" shoes I have, I rotate between 3 pairs every few months. The first pair I bought in 2010 and the other 2 in 2011. The 2011's had stiffer straps so they tore a little on the arch strap, but still stay on and haven't torn anymore. I've only had them resoled and they're still not ready for the trash can. Definitely a good investment if you don't want to replace your dancer shoes every 2 months.
