So, there's this girl that works in my club. And when she's in the very small dr, she ALWAYS has something to bitch about. Usually, it's just chairs in her way, people talking on the phone, or not having enough outlets, but her latest crusade is against smoking. Our dr is the only place we are allowed to smoke, and I grab a smoke break when I can - usually between customers when I'm not about to go onstage. Since this can leave me not always having time to smoke as often as I normally would, I'll usually just smoke two before I go back out on the floor.
This has led to her, on two occasions now, coming back and screaming, "Can you not fucking chain smoke back here?! I can't fucking breathe!", bitching to other girls, hiding the ash-tray, etc.
Now, I see where she's coming from. She doesn't want to breathe in the smoke all the time. But it's MY dressing room as much as it is HERS, and I can't smoke anywhere else while I'm working. I don't even smoke half as much as some of the other girls, but I think because I'm new, I'M the one getting the blame.
So far, I've just acted like I haven't heard her, ignored her, pretended to be texting, and I've tried to arrange things so that I go up right before her and end up taking my smoke breaks while she's onstage, but this makes it hard for me to hustle ld/vip's right after my set.
How would you handle this? I don't want to cause any drama, but at the same time, I'm having trouble turning the other cheek and holding my tongue.
