Smiley super new, need advice :) (especially pertaining to the DFW area) :)

Hi girls,I've been lurking on sw for quite some time, and finally made an account. I've never danced before, but it's something that I've always thought about. I really want to try it out. Here's the thing, I already work a ton. I bartend and work 4 nights and 3 day shifts. I don't want to quit and try to start dancing when I very well might suck at it/hate it...but will I be able to get hired for just a shift or 2 a week. (I know it's a lot of hours, but I'm used to working a lot) I'm also in need of club suggestions for Fort worth, Texas.... There's several out here, but I'm not sure where would be good to try...I'm totally lost really...haha I'm 23 caucasion/south Indian and I think I'm cute and pretty in shape. I recently have gottten back in shape..and being able to dance has been my motivation...Sorry, im totally a newbie lol. Thanks in advance and sorry for the novel

Most clubs don't really care how much you work. There are some clubs that have schedules or ask that you try to work at least 3 shifts a week or something like that, but really, in most places, you can just come and go as you please. Like, literally, you can not show up for 2 weeks and nobody will say anything or even ask where you were. That's awesome that you are such a hard worker, that kind of work ethic will make you a really rich stripper! Lol! Good luck!

I haven't danced yet either (going to audition next week!) but I've heard the best things about The Lodge in Dallas. I've been there as a customer and I like it a lot. I will let you know how my audition goes.

I've also never danced before but I've been looking into the Lodge in Dallas as well. How did your audition go and what do you think of the place?

I looked into the Lodge, but it looks like they have a pretty strict tattoo policy and I have a few. all mine are really nice work, but tattoos nonetheless.

^Did they reject you over them? It sounds like you just read/heard that, so it may still be worthwhile to give it a shot and audition. The worst that'll happen is they'll confirm that, but they might also hire you.

True and you're right, I haven't gone there yet, I saw girls talking about that in a few threads. I wasn't sure if it was true. The Lodge is in Dallas though and Id rather stay in fort worth if I can find somewhere okay. One because it's closer, and two to avoid this licensing thing I keep seeing people mention about Dallas clubs. If It's worth it id totally make the drive out there. I need to get my butt up and actually start looking!!

The Lodge allows tattoos. I just called and ask the manager. Plus they have girls already there with tattoos. Also, you do not need a license to dance in Dallas. You need a background check and it costs $60 and is good at one club.

Haha, ah I guess I should take everything I'm reading with a grain of salt then. It seems like that's a nice club from what Ive read, I think I will apply even though it's like 45 minutes away. Thanks for letting me know

Always feel free to just call the club. You're not the first new dancer they've ever talked to, and I can assure you people have asked WAY stupider questions than anything you could come up with. I've learned a lot from calling clubs, and it's not like they'll recognize your voice in person and know you were that girl on the phone who's scared shitless because she's never done this before.

I work at Ricks DFW off of 183 & it's technically still in the Fort Worth city limits, I'd recommend Cab North or Cab East in Arlington if you are trying to stay over in that area, neither require to work a min # of shifts & don't require a schedule.

I auditioned at the Lodge and the manager told me to come back when I lose weight. I think my body type just isn't right for that club though...I have really small breasts and really big hips, and all the small racks in there were on stick thin girls with narrow hips. I can't lose much more weight without being unhealthy so I'm not worried about it. You should still try the Lodge though because it is a great place.

Ugh I feel you on that Stormi I'm 5ft 8" & around 155 lbs with a similar shape as you are describing but I am a 36 B cup size & I've been told that i'm "really curvy" at this dumpy place in Long beach once when i went to audition, but she hired me anyways , wtf?! anyhoo i decided not to stay bc she made me feel very uncomfortable after saying that to me in the office and it wasn't my kind of clientele either . However, I haven't had a hiring problem anywhere else I've worked in the last 10 years despite my "curviness" LOL. And I have alot of tattooos also. My weight flucuates all the time...Oh well... "fuck diets" as I've always said, my money has never suffered due to me having a larger body frame because I carry it well. Customers really like to have a woman ,something to grab onto, instead of nothing . My hair & make-up and outfits are always in order & I'm usually very nervous when I go audition at a new club. You are beautiful despite what any stupid manager says!!!!! Beauty is an opinion, NOT a fact!!!! so his loss, you will rake in $$$ somewhere else where they will glady appreciate & respect you Good Luck sweetie!!!!

Stormi, I'm sure you will somewhere where they think you're smokin hot, and thanks fthat advice gothbarbie. Thanks for the info Trophy, I will probably check out Cab North..id go to Cab East, but I know way too many people who go there super regularly, esp. a bunch of my regulars from where I bartend. While I don't really care if people know, or if I run into people...I think it might be a little awkward over there lol. So do you not recommend Ricks, where you said you work?

I totally recommend Ricks honestly; it's most out of towners which I prefer because I don't like the idea of running into ppl from my day job. We have a lot of former lodge girls & the management is awesome.

Does Ricks have a shift minimum or require a set schedule?

I can only speak for Ricks but they own cab north so the house fees are probably similar.
House fee's before 7p; $22, then it goes up like $10 per hr.
tip out: $10 for DJ & House mom
Dances:$20, you keep all of it unless its on a CC & then u get $18
Rules are the same as any other Dallas /Ft Worth Clubs.

Yeah, we have a handful of girls who have some "extreme tattoos" & bright colored hair. They do well since they stand out from the standard stripper Barbie
