So, today was bad. Like, nobody in the club until about 8pm when my shift ends at 9 bad. So it's my second-to-last set, and there are a few people around the stage, but no one tipping. On my second song, I just laid on the stage, drumming my fingers, giving the lookie-loos my best adorable "tip me, I'm so bored up here" look. And it worked. Guy in the corner laughs his ass off and comes to the stage to tip me. I thank him and give him a nice show to set a good example.
After the set, I sat with him, struck up a conversation. Just as I was bringing up dances, a dancer, we'll call her Cutthroat, walzes up, plops right down on his lap.
"Do you wanna dance?"
"Oh, I don't know."
"Come on, it'll be fun!"
"Nah."
"Come play with me. You know you wanna get naughty in the back with me."
"No thanks."
So he changes the subject. I have a couple of options here. I could call her out on it. I could walk away and let her have him, knowing he's not interested in getting a dance. Or I could stay and just make the conversation awkward for her.
I did that. Kept up the conversation, didn't start any drama.
So she suggests a double-dance.
"No, thanks."
Seeing that she's getting nowhere, she walks away.
I keep talking with the guy until my next set. He tips me again onstage. I figure, what the hell, might as well try, and ask him if he wants a dance when I get off stage.
"I'll think about it."
So I go back after my set. Ask, "So what do you think? You want to go to the back with me?"
"Okay, how much is it?"
"$25."
"Oh, no. That won't work."
Well shit.
Then he pulls out a $50 bill, and says, "Here, I want a dance for me and a dance for my friend."
Both were happy with their dances, were perfect gentlemen, touched only where I told them they could, and were fun to dance for. And I got to feel GREAT about not reacting to her drama and STILL coming out on top. Karma was on my side tonight.

Simone's right on, that looks so desperate and pathetic on her part.
