Default Perfecting Your Technique on the Pole?

    Ladies,

    Two questions:

    1. How long did it take you to perfect your pole-dancing technique?
    2. Do you practise much on the pole to add new moves or make sure existing ones stay grooved?

I ask these questions because some guys pay little or no attention to a dancer's public performance on the pole. (They prefer to chat among themselves over beer and often only take an interest when the dancer returns to floor level.)

This seems strange to me, because the confidence, skill and agility needed to perform impressively on the pole - not to mention the sheer physical courage - are significant. The spectacle is magnificent, IMHO.

Thanks in anticipation for your feedback.

I never bothered learning pole tricks because you're correct that they aren't appreciated, and they don't generate income.

if they don't attract attention, don't bother with them, and do floor work and earn more money!! some club and customers ( urban clubs, couples, female customers) go crazy over pole tricks, and some clubs you're just wasting your energy and talents doing it. i used to be ok at the pole but now i don't do it unless its a particular crowd that would appreciate them

^I don't think OP is a dancer since this was posted in Customer Conversation and they have a blue ribbon.

Pole dancing offers the least possible physical contact between dancer and customer (as in: zero), therefore it gets the least amount of attention from customers (and by extension, money).
The result of this is you start seeing less and less skilled pole tricks, and more of the "let's just get this rotation over with and do some perfunctory moves so I can get back to making money".

    ^This!

If I'm on the pole I'm not directly "interacting" with customers so I'm less likely to make any money from my stage set (or be able to arrange any dances for when I finish my stage set ).

If it's quiet or there aren't many ppl sitting at the tip rail then I might dust off a few pole moves to entertain myself/put on a bit more of a show, but generally it's simply not worth the effort.
