I always try to get a full 8 hours of sleep because I just feel so much better when I get a good night's sleep, but half the time I get significantly less sleep than that. Part of it is because I have to be up for school at 8:30am three days a week, and I work some nights before school. A lot of days I only find myself getting like 4 hours of sleep, sometimes even less! Once I started college full-time and was also working at full time I started to realize that I get way less sleep than I used to. I'm lucky to get six hours of sleep, I consider that decent - anything in that range and above I consider good. Of course there are a few days of the week that I'm able to sleep in, but sometimes my body just wakes me up early since I'm used to it because of school. Other days I'm able to get like 8-10 hours of sleep but this only happens a couple days a week. The majority of days in the week I get much less sleep than that.
I know that a person my age should be getting about 8 hours of sleep, but is it normal that I get substantially less sleep than that? I know once you become an adult sleep is less available because of the busyness of our schedules, so do any of you also tend to lack the amount of sleep that is recommended?

I've been trying to take naps through out the day to make up for it, but I still feel so drained right now. A huge plus for you is that there's a couple days a week, where you can sort of get caught up on your sleep Nina, so that's really good. If you can, make sure that your schedule stays that way!!
