Default New here, have a question

Hey I'm new! I've been lurking here for a while and reading a lot of threads (BTW, found some great information here!)

I plan on becoming a dancer when I'm thinner and more in shape. In the mean time, I'm desperate to start making more money and I also want to see the workings of a strip club before actually becoming a stripper. So I was thinking of trying to become a cocktail waitress until I lose weight and get in shape. My question is do clubs only hire waitresses who look like the dancers? I'm not horribly overweight (5'4, 130 lbs) but I definitely have a ways to go (my goal weight is 110).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

^You shouldn't have an issue getting a waitressing job (as long as you are well groomed, friendly and have experience, although that my not be necessary). But, why not start dancing at less upscale club until you loose the weight? Then you can audition at an upscale club (if that's the way you want to go) with more confidence and some experience under your belt. Also, dancing will definitely help you shed the weight faster.

I am 5'4" and danced at 130lbs for 7 yrs. never had any issues making good money, although many of the higher end clubs wouldn't higher me although a few would. It helps to have big boobs and a pretty face.

This. You'll make more money dancing, and while you'll certainly have a bit more experience in the industry as a waitress, you won't really get the true working of a club from that perspective as you'll experience as a dancer anyway. And honestly, I think it's harder to get a job waitressing because there are limited positions/shifts, whereas most clubs can never have enough dancers.

Thank you all for the replies! I'm now thinking about looking into some of the less upscale clubs (I live in CO near Denver, so I was looking at Diamond Cabaret or La Boheme, but I'll do a search on other clubs in the state). I think another reason for me wanting to start out cocktail waitressing is because I was hoping to get a boob job (lift and augmentation, I have naturally large breasts and since losing 40 lbs they've started to droop on me :/ ) before going topless as a dancer. My boobs aren't THAT bad I guess, but I'm not sure if they're good enough for even a lower scale club :/ At the lower scale clubs, does that matter? My boobs look awesome in a pushup bra (36C), but without a bra...yeah...

To be honest, I've never actually seen the girls at a less upscale club. So I guess I can always go in and take a look to see how I compare...

I say start working at a lower end club. Denver is known for thin girls generally but you can lose that weight and make some money for your boob job at a lower end club all while gaining experience and then move up into a higher end club if that's what you ultimately like to do. Strip club waitressing doesn't do much for you in my opinion. I really don't think you at 130 is bad but by all means, post a pic.

I lived in Colorado Springs and danced there primarily but I know about Denver. The clubs you mentioned are the two I was thinking if who turned me down. You're right to think to dance there you'd probably have to be thinner-they like size 4s and below. However some of the other clubs would take you-I'm thinking one of the PTs and I k ow for sure if Players club is around they'd probably take you too.

Thanks for the replies! I have yet to go into any strip clubs so its good to get an honest input of what girls certain clubs hire. I'm making a list of clubs to check out on my next day off, including PTs (any suggestions for other Colorado clubs?) I think I'll probably post a pic after I slap on some sunless tanner (super pale atm lol), it'd be good to get some honest feedback on how I would compare

Go for it! I'm currently 5'3 and 108, but danced at an upscale club at 135-my heaviest-and was a top earner. Every guy likes something different and I've lost tons of money to curvier girls when I lost weight. If you hate your stomach like I did, either get a body wrap at a spa or learn to do them yourself. They get rid of water weight, give you a flatter stomach, and really make an hourglass figure look goddess-like

Ugh sorry for the late reply...anyway I've finally gotten around to taking a pic, topless and all...lol. I'd like honest feedback! I know my boobs aren't in the greatest shape...hopefully I can lose weight and save up for a breat lift in the meantime! But do I have a chance, even in the lower scale clubs?

    (Edited)

Also, since I'm not too familiar with the strib clubs in Denver (or around), what clubs are considered low scale? I've been researching a little, looks like Club Maxim would be the place to look? Any other ideas?

Thanks so much for the advice/suggestions!

^^^ I don't feel your body looks that bad...you just need to tone up, and do some cardio. Also, your breasts aren't all that saggy. Do some exercises that will work the muscles above your breasts and that will give them a lift.

I've read somewhere that doing push ups helps with the muscle tone underneath the breast and can enhance their look a bit. I need to start doing push ups myself.

do you have a picture of your face? Labo might hire you and players or platinum will definitely hire you. Don't go to PT's that place is gross.

I've definitely started going to the gym to try and tone up, but I will start adding chest exercises as well, crossing my fingers they'll help lift them a bit

I was thinking about Labo, though I've heard they hire thinner girls...might try there anways, always worth a try I'll check out players and platinum as well

So I decided to finally start looking tomorrow. I do have some concerns though. I'm completely broke at the moment, as in only have 50 cents to my name so I don't have any money to buy outfits to dance in. I only have 1 matching set of black lingerie. I only have street clothes other than that, not even any babydolls or slips or gowns, etc. So my questions are:

-what exactly do I need to wear to audition or apply? Will a black bra and black lace thong be ok with 3 in heels be ok? As far as what I show up to the club in, are a lowcut top and dark skinny jeans with heels ok?
-if hired, do I need an actual outfit? Even if I can't afford one? And if the black bra and thong are acceptable, can I wear it multiple times to dance until I can afford an outfit and new lingerie?

Sorry for so many questions, I'm in quite the predicament. I need money ASAP for rent due in less than a week and I have no money to my name...not a good time to finally decide to start dancing.

Thank you all so much for the helpful advice!

If I don't have a costume or expected lingerie? can I still dance at a lowscale club just for the first night? Thanks!

You're overthinking this. You don't need a costume or gown in most clubs. A black lingerie set and normal heels are fine for an audition and first shift, though I do recommend proper shoes being your first purchase once you make some money. Many dancers even wear lingerie sets through their entire dancing careers, so you're really and truly fine to rock it for day one. Good luck!

Thanks so much! That was one of the major things that was putting me off from going and auditioning, I feel a little bit better now

How was your auditions and where did you end up auditioning at? I am hoping to audition in Denver in the next two weeks and I would love to hear from somebody that just did!

I just wanted to add while you are starting your new exercise routine, don't forget about weight lifting! so many girls don't bc there's a perpetual myth that you will look masculine but its absolutely not true. you will look toned and feminine it ESPECIALLY helps your boobs. I def saw a difference in mine.
