Default Anyone use QuickBooks or Sage?

    Howdy everyone,
I was doing some research/reading and I thought I would ask my question in Camming Connection. Sorry if its the wrong place!

Anyway, I have been camming for almost a year now, full time. I was just thinking about how if I wanted to ever get financed for a car or if I wanted to move into an apt, etc how hard it is for a self-employed person to show their proof of income. I know that sometimes people or businesses want to see certain things like paystubs. So I was wondering if it would be beneficial to use something like Quickbooks or Sage. The idea would be to have camming pay you in a specific bank account and then use quickbooks to pay yourself your salary in your personal account so that you are able to generate a paystub, and also a record of payment etc.

They have other bennies like accepting payments from custies etc. So if I decided to go indie in the future, this might be a viable option. The only thing is I don't really know the ins and outs of this kinda thing. (If I would need a business license etc). So I am wondering if it would even be worth it. I really like the idea of being organized and keeping business separate from personal etc and also for tax purposes.

Do any of you ladies have any insight/or experience w this? I could totally be over-thinking this and making it harder for myself, which is something I tend to do! I appreciate your help!

I'd recommend getting an LLC and apply for an EIN # (LLC costs about $400 to set up, EIN is free through the IRS) you then open a business bank account under your LLC. When you sign up for cam sites, you use your EIN instead of your SSN and you get paid to your business account instead of your personal account, and then yes you can use Quickbooks + Intuit payroll or sometimes your business bank account has payroll options as well. This helps because you are then paid by "Legit Company, LLC" it just looks better and it's also easier to keep business and personal expenses separate so that helps when it comes to taxes, LLCs also have other tax advantages as well as privacy. Consult a lawyer or CPA as well because I'm not one this is just a personal opinion

Oh thanks for that Sassy! And to the OP for the thread. I'm really trying not to rush into camming so I can avoid issues with my future career, investments, and loans. But I also gave myself until June 1st when my job ends to get it all figured out enough to get started. This kind of info helps tremendously.
