Default Adding a tripod hole to a Logitech 9000

I'm browsing the net trying to find out if the Logitec BCC has a hole on the bottom of it so it it can go on a tripod and I found this nifty page i started caming with a 9000 (and still works perfectly fine) but my c920 has me spoiled now and i wish the 9000 had a tripod hole well now it can ... : P

    • Remove the 3 screws closing the middle section of camera stand. Note that one of them is hidden by a rubber cushion.Remove the top cover then the two screws holding the bottom cover on the hinge. Remove the middle screw holding metal weight. All elements separated.Drill a 5mm hole in the metal weight near middle hole, then thread it with a 6.35mm/0.5mm tap. The metal of the weight is very soft, so these operations are easy.Using the hole in the metal weight as pattern, check the centers of holes on top and bottom plastic cover. Drill them with a 6.5mm hole.Reassemble all elements......here is the result!

ok so i just read it - Drill a 5mm hole in the metal weight near middle hole, then thread it with a 6.35mm/0.5mm tap. The metal of the weight is very soft, so these operations are easy.

where the fuck are you going to go to do this part? home depot ? lol

You'd need the right tools, but I'm thinking some local handyman type could do that pretty quickly and cheaply. I'd take the thing apart as shown and just take the parts that need drilling, so no random handyperson would know you're drilling holes in a webcam and start asking stupid questions

I would just duct tape it to a tripod. I've done that before with C910.

C920s have the hole already, so if you want to upgrade from 9000 you want to chose a C920 instead of C910)

IMO, the 920 is poor quality for camming. The picture looks off to me. And the 9000 looks really yellow for some reason. Those are just my experiences though. I have more than C910 and even they have slightly different picture quality.

I use to duck tape mine to a tripod. Then I came across this thread Logitech 9000 and C910 tripod mounting. I used that method for a short time before getting the c920.

I just built a desk tripod out of lego to make use of the square open space it already had.

(Hey, any excuse to play with lego!)

I tried the hot glue method in the video..it did not hold for long! Then I tried a superglue, that worked a little better but you have to be VERY careful so it does not get on the threads. Eventually I just bought two C920's. I love that cam!
