So, I'm still fairly new (been dancing for almost 2 months), but I have a sort of moral question.
At my club, there is no mandatory tip-out. I've asked around, it seems like every girl tips differently, but most have told me that they only tip someone if they do something special for them, or else don't tip anyone at all.
So here's a run-down of the staff:
DJ A is the day-shift guy. He's not great. Doesn't always cut songs, doesn't know music, will sometimes let the break song play through when a girl is clearly standing there waiting to go onstage, will still send girls up, even if it's slow and no one is tipping, and plays on his laptop for a good deal of the day, not paying attention. He gets a $10 cleaning fee from every girl at the beginning of the week, plus $8/hour. None of the other girls like him, but he is always sweet to me and routinely thanks me for being the only girl who comes to him when I'm supposed to, doesn't make a fuss about anything, and is always on time and ready.
DJ B is the manager of the club. He makes $15/hour plus gets paid vacation time and a cut of house fees/dance fees. As a DJ, he's pretty middle-of-the-road.
DJ C is easily the best. He reads the crowd, plays music appropriately, knows his shit, etc. He makes $8/hour.
DJ D is middle-of-the-road, makes $8/hour
The bouncers mostly suck. They pretty much just sleep through their shift, play on their phones, and they will stick up for a customer before a dancer. I honestly have no idea what they make, but I heard that it was also $8/hour.
The bartenders are all awesome. They work for tips and generally make a decent amount.
The waitresses are useless. All they do is bother you/customers, and one of them will even take her tits out for customers when they pay her for a round to get tipped. They also work for tips only, split with the bar.
On a day shift, I generally can make about $50, nights $150-200, weekends $300+
If I make less than $50, no one gets tipped. Most of the time, I tip $5 to the bouncer on the door IF AND ONLY IF he walks me out. If he just stands there and watches me walk out, he gets nothing. I never tip the bouncer who watches the dance room because he is generally the one sleeping. I will occassionally tip DJ A $5, but he is usually gone for the night before I make enough money. I never tip DJ B. I tip DJ C at least $10. I tip DJ D at least $5. I tip the bartenders $1/drink that I buy, or if a customer buys me a drink and doesn't tip, I'll put in $1 for him. I never tip the waitresses.
So, that's what I've been doing. Do you agree with this? How much would you tip each of them?
