Default Best Program To Add Subtitles To Video

What is the best program to add subtitles to a clip you shot? I recorded one in a different language and I want to add subtitles. Is there an easy program that does this? Or an easy tutorial?

That sounds really cool! Are you running a Mac or PC? I'm on a Mac so I would just use iMovie, which is totally user-friendly and has several different options for incorporating text into a clip. I have my URL set on mine and it was really easy to learn how. There's options for credit and everything so I'm sure there's a subtitles option. The PC-equivalent is Movie-Maker, I think? Maybe someone who works that platform can speak better to it. Either way, these are just apps that typically come free with the standard OS.
