    Dizzy Living near the club

Basically, I've had my mind set on dancing for a while and I live near a strip club. I was just wondering if it's a bad idea to audition to that one since I live so close by.

Also wondering, my skin has a fair amount of scars and I have light brown skin. Does this matter? Does anyone know any tricks to get even looking skin ? I know that girls at the strip club usually have very clear and near perfect skin (with the exception of stretch marks).

I drive about 45 minutes to my club, but it's all about personal preference. Do you have family that lives in the same town as you? co-workers at a vanilla job? Maybe certain people you don't want to know? Those are just a few things to put into consideration. If you aren't worried about running into people or people finding out, I'd say go for it

I know quite a few dancers who have some pretty huge scars and you wouldn't even notice they had them in the black light. I wouldn't worry too much about them.

I've lived walking distance from 3 clubs I've work at and it fucking rocked. I loved being able to walk when it was a lovely day, and it was great to not have to worry about bus schedules since I don't drive. Of course, neither my home nor those clubs were in shady areas, so YMMV.

Wrong. I've seen many dancers in the dressing room with bad skin. Club lighting is very flattering and covers up minor imperfections. I wouldn't be too concerned.

nooo we dont all have clear skin trust me!! the black lights and makeup make it look that way..i also use sally hansen airbrush self-tanner which helps tremendously. i remember thinking girls had the most beautiful skin and then i'd see them outside on a smoke break and they'd be covered in bruises, zits, scratches, razor burn,scars...so don't worry. if you aren't concerned with friends or family possibly seeing you then working close to home is awesome!!

Yeah, I wish I lived close to a club..there's all kinds of body makeup, self tanners, etc. Check out in body business section.

I literally live a block from my club and I find it really convenient-I can get ready at home, leave/start later, avoid public transport or traffic, there's no commute and I get home to bed earlier than I otherwise would. Having said that, a lot of the time taxi's refuse (which is illegal btw) to take me home, so I usually walk. Now, I would NOT advise doing this though and I'm NOT encouraging it (My area is a crowded inner city street with many 24hr eateries and venues-so there are always plenty of people (women alike) around and it's a safe area).

Dermablend is amazing for covering scars etc and even tattoos. I have a scar from when I had my nose pierced which is normally obvious and purple, but you can't see it underneath dermablend. Also, you would be surprised how forgiving the club lights are-it's very dark and the customers wont notice if you are having a bad skin day etc.

^...we don't...we are just sneaky and know the tricks of the trade that allow us to hide our imperfections . There is a lot of info' in Body Business and I'm sure you will pick up a lot from the other dancers at your club when you start .

I live 4 minutes away from my work. People know I'm a stripper. They see me walking my pet alligators. Ni big deal.
