Default What is the fastest you ever quit a job and why?

I just quit my bartending/waitress job after only doing 2 hours of 'training' on Saturday. I thought it would be fun because my sister in law worked there and loved it but I hated every minute of it! I felt so rushed and under pressure and I thought that by arriving 15 minutes early I would be shown the basics and where everything is. Instead they made me start serving people straight away. I felt so out of place and didn't like it at all. The managers and customers were all so nice and understanding knowing it was my first time in the industry but I'm not wasting my time in a job I know isn't for me. I even told the manager I wasn't enjoying it but he told me to give it a few more shifts to see if it changes. Well I'm not. I'm suppose to work today but I'm done so I just sent them an email saying thank you but I won't be returning.

    Time: 2 hours 15 minutes

What's the fastest you ever quit a job?

When I worked as a webdesigner, I went to a job interview for a sure job. I was the only one they called, so it was more of a training then an interview. It was on a office building downtown.

The surroundings were so... Corporate. I would work in a big room filled with really longs desks, each containing dozens of computers. My colleagues would be mostly programmers, male programmers. I can't express how oppressing the whole scenario was.

    About 1 1/2.

I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one who quit after one shift. Lol. I was going to do a no show but I changed my mind because the managers were really nice. Anyway they emailed me back and thanked me for my honesty and for letting them know and wished me luck for my future.

Almost 4 hours...I ended up getting assigned to a construction company for administrative work through a temp agency. At first everything seemed ok, the girl I was replacing had been moved up and she basically gave me a quick walk thru of everything and then threw me into the fire. I would've been ok with it all but anytime I had a question about where something was located or asked her anything she was so full of herself that she acted like I was bothering her. Four hours later on my break to lunch I went home called the temp service and explained everything and told them I was not going back.

Lol Sassy I almost did that before I even went into this last job. I just woke up feeling like it wasn't right and I wasn't going to enjoy it. However I thought I'd give it a chance and went in all positive and convincing myself I would be fine. I should have listened to my gut feeling.

6 months. I thought I was going to work in a better place when I quit. Would've quit sooner, but needed money to eat, so I held in there even if I hated everything about my life at the time. Turns out all min wage jobs are equally sucky. Whenever I start to wonder if camming is worth it (for a girl who just started), I remember those days in kennels and vet clinics, with toxic coworkers, and that is good enough to motivate me to get my ass on cam. I do not believe the human species is meant to work as much as society has us setup to work, just to afford basic necessities like food and toilet paper. :-p

I think it was about an hour or two, I was working as a hostess in an international fair ( the employer was a foreigner in my country) I left because of Sexual harassment, I found immediately the same exact job in another stand.

20 seconds. I have a vanilla business that I own/run outside of adult. Because it's domestic, it entails me to dedicate a lot of hours in one setting for each individual client. Because of this, I'm not only expensive, but I make a nice wad of cash on each job and a lot of people sign up for multiples, or a "contract" thereafter. Now, everyone has things they have to cancel for occasionally. I've had a few people(one) reschedule ahead of time, and each customer who has rescheduled has always been very reliable. Not this time and I'm highly annoyed.

I had a lady contact me for services back in November. Yes, this is how long this has been going on. She wanted more info, I gave it to her, she said she'd be in contact. We email each other a few times, yada yada, I have her fill out an estimate and I give her a quote and she accepts. She then emails me that her family is in the process of moving and changes up her needs. She then tries to get the same amount I quoted for, for less, I re-evaluate her needs, give her a new quote (as I charge more for that service) and she accepts again. Now, at this point she's already getting ahead of herself and wants to sign up for reoccurring jobs. That's fine but most people do that after the first job is complete.

We set a final date, she reschedules. We set up a 2nd date, she reschedules two days before. We set up a final date for me (which MOST new customers only get 1-2 cancellations)for this morning. I decided not to go on cam last night because my vanilla business is 99.9% a sure thing. I do my job, the customer is happy, I go home with cold hard cash in hand. No, this lady calls me 45 minutes before I'm supposed to be at her home and CANCELS on me again giving me some lame excuse. In my contract, if I actually had her sign it, she would've been out $100.00+. If she was an actual reoccurring customer, that would've been a $35.00 cancellation fee each time, and she would've been chopped off my list for having too many cancellations. What really pisses me off is that because my husband totaled the car, I would've had to taxi it to her place, and, I always prep the night before, so I stayed up until 2am getting ready for this bitch.

She explains that she now doesn't know when she's going to need me. I tell her, I apologize but I won't be able to help her in the future. I quit, on her. If I had lived 30-60 min away, I would've been already on my way to her home and I would've been seething, especially for all that is holy in the traffic around here this early. Now I see why the people in my vanilla business charge a 50% non refundable deposit because fuckers like that cancel last minute. So, from now on, for those particular jobs, I demand a non refundable deposit. She seriously fucked my wholeeeee financial forecast for the week. Looks like I'm gonna have to cam my ass off for that $330+ I would've gotten. All I can say is when in doubt, cam anyway!

I quit a bartending job the first night. Because the two other bartenders were fat, slow, rude (men) jerks to me and to the customers. It was a sport's bar and most of the patrons were men, so they naturally swarmed to me section, by the end of the night my bar was FULL! I was so busy busting my ass.

Then when it was time to go home the other bartender came to me to collect my tips, so we could pool our tips together and split them equally 3 ways!! There was a visual of me getting ripped off. My jar was FULL of 5's and even a 10 or two. Theirs= strikingly empty.

''Tip sharing" I found out later is illegal in my state, so I wrote BBB, and wrote a review online. They were closed the following year, (not because of me of course) after only being open 4 years...

Also, as I was leaving through the back I grabbed a small pallet of top shelf booze. Although it was only 4 bottles, it was worth more than I would have made in a week there.

I went home and drank one of the cool looking bottles out a Batman mug, while I was on cam. My room got a real kick out of my story being told belligerently drunk. One of the guys on my room cut and pasted a comparable bottle to the one I was drinking, along the price, and I laughed so hard.

That was the first and only time I've ever stolen, but I felt so entitled and pissed that night. Strange...

Love your last sentence kortney- 'when in doubt cam away.'

And aquarian lol your situation sounds exactly like the job I just quit. It was a sports bar too and I know what you mean. We don't get tips in Australia though because our wages are already really good, but people tip bartenders sometimes anyway. So in the 2 hours I worked there I got tipped $12 on top of my $44 for the 2 hours. Well what I just realised is that they never asked me for my bank details for my 2 hours training session, I read online we must be paid for ALL work even if it is just a 'trial' or 'training' like my 2 hours was. I wonder if I should email them again with my bank details or just let it go, I know it's $56 but still..

I quit two telemarketting jobs(why did I try it AGAIN) lol! one after three weeks and one after probably six weeks. Wendy's in a month and a half. Those were all when I was 19. So irresponsible.. Those jobs I quit cuz they were too stressful for me at the time.. I was super shy.

Last summer I quit this job where I was 'inspecting tubing'. So I was inspecting these long tubes, kinda like really thin straws. I would 'feel' with my fingers across the tube and make sure it had no bumps or flaws. It took me about 5 seconds to inspect each one. I would have a pile of about 2000 in front of me, and work on that for eight days in a row.. then off to a new, differently colored tube!!!! I lasted there about a month I think. Mind Numbing Hell!=)

    ^^^That does sound absolutely AWFUL....LOL

I once quite a temp job within 2 hrs...I was working as a higher level PA/Admin assistant at the time. Typing speeds upwards of 140wpm, experience, suited up (and not visibly modified at the time..). They placed me with a blood bank - I assumed that I would be behind a desk, maybe doing client records...not picky, just wanted to sit behind a computer in a suit.

I turned up, and was shown how to fold and organize the scrubs, stack and sort the little "medals" people get for donating...generally sit around like a glorified maid on the other side of the curtain from the people giving blood. Then someone threw up, and they asked me to mop it up. Hellz. No.

The worst part? The temp agent who asked me why I was back in her office on my lunch break to quit didn't seem to realize what the problem was...SMH.

I've also quit jobs after a few days, if the people turn out to be assholes, or the job isn't what it was supposed to be, or any number of reasons. If it's not going to work, you don't do anyone any favors by sticking around and half-assing the work.

I've always toughed it out at my vanilla jobs, but being young and completely on my own didn't really give me much of a choice. Had nooooo idea about camming. Since I started camming for the first time, it was not long after that I left my call center job and have never been back to that world. Only stuff I've done is cam, model, and escort. If I ever tried to get a vanilla job again I don't think I'd even get as far as showing up for the interview
