Default Camming only for a short time?

Hello, I'm new here, I hope this makes sense. I've tried to familiarize myself with the rules here, but I've only been lurking a short time, so I hope I don't say anything too stupid.

Anywho, in about a year or a year and a half, I'll be moving to attend a cosmetology school. Since they don't provide housing, I'm going to need to pay for my own place. So I started thinking that I'd try using MGF for a few months to help pay for rent after I move. Is this a wise decision? I understand the inherent risk of camming, but I was planning on buying some nice, high quality wigs to use while I do it; because the way I see it, I'm making a character and putting on a show. Not to mention it might help with anonymity and hair is a great way to change up an appearance and keep things interesting.

I'm not entirely new to being on camera - I've done it before for old boyfriends when they were on a trip or otherwise away, and I always had so much fun doing it. My friend tried MGF with great success and I was thinking if I worked hard enough it might benefit me to try it too. But I'm a little confused about the fact they want you to use pseudonyms, but also your real name when signing up?

Anyway, this isn't entirely about MGF, just whether or not my idea of doing this is sound and anything else you think I should know. I've read a lot of threads already about safety and things like that, I guess I'm trying to work things out for myself. Thanks for any and all help!

We just went over all of this in the thread started yesterday: https://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sh...gh-College-MBA

And in about 500 other threads...

    Here, I will sum up:

    You WILL be recognized
    You WILL be outed
It WILL show on some background checks
Pictures/Videos of you WILL be up online FOREVER.

You have to use your real name when signing up for LEGALITY and TAX purposes.
    Your income will be taxable.
You are expected to file taxes on your income. If you don't, expect an audit and fraud.
It can dramatically effect student aid.

No matter how well you "hide" yourself, top girl or not, someone somewhere will recognize you.

    Be prepared.

Actually, I do want to add that cosmetology might be an okay industry to go into after (or even during) camming. Here is why. You have the ability to be your own boss. You can either get employed by a salon (which most new girls do at first because they don't have clientele yet), or you can rent a booth in a salon for a flat monthly fee (I have also heard of girls giving a percentage of what they make). You would be an independent contractor if you did the latter, but the salon owner could end your contract at any time of course (and probably would if they found out). But you could always open up your own salon or go completely indy, and you would be your own boss.

But yess, you will probably be outed at some point down the line.

Why would the salon owner end your contract if they find out? I'm curious because it's not like you turn the salon you work at into a camming place. When you are an independent contractor, you either pay weekly flat rate or monthly but you have to provide everything.

For the same reason a boss would fire you if he/she found out. Because they believe it tarnishes the name of the company (in this case, the salon). Often times the person who owns the salon is also a cosmetologist who works in the very same salon. And she would not want her name, salon, or business associated with a sexworker (or ex-worker).

I see where you're coming but I don't completely agree. For instance, I am a self-employed Hairstylist. I work at a salon that has about 30 individual suites and everyone who works there has their own salon name (the hairstylists get to choose the name of their salon). The owners do not do hair, they are just simply landlords. I do not cam at my suite, I simply just do hair so if the landlords do find out I cam on the side, I really can't see how that would be an issue that would cause them to end my lease.

Marina, no one is saying that they will fire you for camming, but things are different everywhere. If someone is working at a salon and they tell someone or someone finds out that she was a cam girl and the boss is looking for an excuse to fire them, they can. You can lose your job at the drop of a hat almost everywhere. Nothing is guaranteed. In your situation, it is more unlikely that anyone would find out since your boss is not directly working with you. There are different situations everywhere.

In that case, you're not contracted with the salon though. You are your own boss, you just rent a space. However, from what I've seen, majority of cosmetologists rent a booth directly from a salon owner in her salon and works along side them. In that case, you are your own business boss, but you are not the boss of the salon. The boss of the salon is the one who contracts you so you have to play by her rules if you want to continue to be contracted in her salon.

You are right! I used to rent a booth directly from a salon owner and work along side them for a long time but when the option becomes available for me to rent a space, I couldn't be happier. I will never go back to booth renting. I do play by the rules because I've been there for a while now. I was just saying what I do outside of the space I rent, it's my own business

To be completely honest, it wouldn't surprise me if he knew I cam.
