I haven't but I want to!!! Bring posters to sign, business cards, comp cards, and ask in advance if you can cam from your booth! Flights and hotel are tax deductable.

I've never been to one, but have been curious about it. If you do go, I hope you have a great time and find it beneficial!

    Thanks Ladies
Ill let u know, I just found out it's a little late and its this month the 30th-2nd i believe so a little late notice, But the company i talked with says u don't need a ton of planning u pay a fee for the booth and it comes with so many flyers i want to say something like 600. But i still think i need a little more planning than just 3 weeks. If i dont go to this one im def going to the next one which i want to say is in Chicago or NY. I'll update whenever i decide.
    Thanks so much everyone!

Yes I have and YES it is beneficial
First and foremost, you will meet alot of contacts......Alot of Big Producers, Cam-Site and Adult website owners. Collect all of the business cards you can!

Like GR said, bring cards, posters, etc along with you to give to fans. Put your referral link, and or a google voice number on them so they can contact you after the convention!

It seems as though you are paying for your own booth which is awesome but, unless you are a huge name...it may not be worth it. You may simply want to put ads out that you are a Model willing to be a booth hostess for a company that is already going to the convention. Here in Vegas, the average convention model makes about $150 a day (sometimes up to $200) for promoting the booth that hires them (as well as promoting themselves) I have been to several conventions (industry and non industry) and all of the companies I have promoted for have allowed me to also promote myself as a model, and walk the floors of the convention making contacts. I am a bit mischevious though, I admit. I get convention gigs and keep in mind to always promote myself first, the company second. I collect cards for myself first, the company second...There is never a shortage of people to talk to at the conventions. I haven't been to one in a while and MISS being a booth babe. I should get back into it. Excellent way to promote yourself, your business and make contacts! Why pay $500 for a booth (just an example) when you can make $500 for being a convention model for 3 days of work

For any of you in the Cali/Vegas/Phoenix area..if you are willing to cover your travel expenses, it is very easy to find gigs being a booth babe in Vegas. There are a few agencies out here that help you get convention work, as well, but I would suggest freelancing. Post ads on craigslist or reply to ads for the conventions you are interested in and go from there.

You are going to have a BLAST.

I've been to a couple big trade shows (Vegas and La) and they were amazing. The amount of people you are going to meet will be overwhelming, Fans, Industry folk etc. Hand out business cards to as many people as you can, and be prepared to do some impromptu interviews. If you have a website, advertize it like crazy. Each time I go to a show, my site gets 3-5 times the traffic it normally does.

I have personally never rented a booth, but depending on which site you work with, you could get a free ticket to hang out at their booth. MFC gives free tickets to models, and I think chaturbate does also. Sadly SM doesn't (unless u are with a certain studio, they have a booth).

Maybe I'll see you there, I will be there at the Ft. Lauderdale show, at the MFC booth.

Oh and dont forget Comfortable shoes, and hand sanitizer. LOL

Agreed that the adult industry trade shows are 'party central'. Also agreed that you will have the opportunity to make potentially valuable industry contacts.

However I agree completely with cyberstripper that, for a girl who does not operate her own adult website / adult webcam host site, the costs and obligations of renting and staffing your own booth at the show will overwhelm any potential economic benefit. Even back in the days when I still operated my own adult pay website and webcam video streaming server, the business 'benefits' stemming from having a booth at the show did NOT justify the costs and time commitments involved !

Keep in mind that the large established adult entertainment companies who also have booths at the show will view you / your booth as a 'competitor'.

Also, keep in mind that the vast majority of 'fans' attending the show are primarily interested in meeting 'adult industry stars' in person.

As Dayzie points out, these days you are far better off trying to hook up with a webcam host that has a booth at the show, and parlaying THEIR booth's ability to attract crowd attention into an opportunity to pass out your own business cards.

I've gone to all of the Exxxotica NJ expos. Except for the last one in Atlantic City they were all money makers for me. Not only are they great networking but handing out cards that link to my cammodels page proved VERY lucrative and I know do shows once a week. I also do seminars there and interview the stars and such. It helps my blog a TON. I've worked booths for people but never had my own. It seems a bit awful haha.

WARNING: Long Post! Sorry, but I'm not gonna tell this story twice so here goes:

I went to the AEE/Online conference, in 2011 and it was awesome. My trip and all my passes were paid for by a biz-contact I had at the time so I had no real overhead, except for food and transport. I live close enough to Vegas that I was able to drive so I had a car. I'm so glad I sprung for really nicely laid out, branded business cards and contact info. I gave many out and got tons of contacts, myself. I had a chat with the CEO of Hustler about Hustler's camming options (they were just breaking into it, that year) and many, many other distros/biz reps. I also had a (FREE) consult with a copyright/online images attorney who gave me great tips on protecting my name/brand/image while I was trying to expand in camming. It was a wealth of knowledge and I learned a lot from it. It was also insanely fun for me. I've worked in trade/distro before, so trade shows are kind of my forte. I LOVE learning about brand-management and smoozing with Industry execs I would never meet, otherwise. I also met other big-name camgirls and I'm pretty sure I had a few words with the MFC-guy (what's his name, again?). I recognized his name, when I heard it and took notice. I walked right up to the booth and saw him talking and brought up a couple things. He was nice enough, at the time and not intimidating at all. That's also where I first came in contact with and introduced myself to the admins at RealTouch so when they popped up here, it was interesting to get back in touch with those guys.

Definitely give yourself as much time to plan as possible because everything moves so fast, that day and there are hundreds of people there. I was rather early and saw the crowd just explode after about a couple of hours. I was able to hit up the bigger names (Hustler/MFC/SM/FleshLight) early in the day and ask any clarifying questions of the Admins that I had without them being bombarded. I wasn't there as a "boothbabe" but as a brand-rep for the company I was working with so my interactions were more technical in nature. Like, I was dressed conservatively and in business attire so that's what kind of exchange I was going for. But really, if you get away from your booth and have your ideas together, you can always walk the floor and do the exact same thing.

I also found that actually being a camgirl with her own independant brand really went a long way, there. We're still sort of a rarity/novelty in the porn world. Everyone is looking for new recruits and will give you as much information about their projects/companies as you need, to make an informed decision. As soon as I said I was representing my company, as far as our product but I was in business for myself, as a cam-girl, photographers, site-developers, studios, and merch/toy-producers were on me like flies on shit to get me to pay attention to what they had to offer. We're both a potential vessel for their brand and a potential consumer-base for these people. Be very concious of that. As models, we're often talked down to but as business people, we have something of an upper-hand and can talk terms much more easily than we think. I spoke to studio-reps and felt pretty good when I was able to say, "Hhhmm.. 30%, you say? Yeeeeah. That's not going to work with me. I have other options. Good luck, though!" I was also coming into contact with other camgirls who were intrigued by the fact that I wasn't representing a site/studio, but myself. I was able to directly tip them off to alternatives, if I recognized they were sitting there getting a raw deal.

So overall, my tips would be: DON'T spend your own money. Make a site or company pay for ALL of your overhead (airfare, room, passes to the cons/events/transportantion costs, if needed). Rep your site well but also bring resources to rep YOURSELF (independantly branded business cards/contact info). Have at least a splash-page to your own indie-model/camgirl site/blog up and running, so the URL on your business cards directs people to something very presentable. Have all your social networking tools available and at your disposal. Many people at the con I attended were really hot on the QR Code readers. They rent little devices to take people's cards or passes and scan them to immediately archive their contacts and upload it later. I didn't have that available but it was still cool. But if you're with someone BIG (Hustler/Playboy/etc) and they're only going to give you 3-5 minutes to introduce yourself and summarize your business, you had better have your shit together to hand over and be able to focus on making a GREAT first impression. With Hustler, I handed the dude's assistant my contact info and asked straight yes or no questions, after giving a couple of words about myself and my background. It was a very brief exchange but he was really positive and handed me his personal card and contact info. The last thing I said was "Thank you and tell Larry he's a national hero." I fucking LOVE that brand.

If you make it to a con, good luck and tell us all how it goes! I'd love to know the run-down. Just be prepared! *** Oh, before I forget: Bring a shopping bag! I had a really cute, boutique, vynl bag that was of good size that I carried to haul ALL of the stuff I was given, for free. Seriously, there's some really cool stuff, for free. Samples, flyers, cards, stickers, and everything. Saying "no" is not an option, especially if you're a hot chick. LoL! So bring a very sturdy (and preferably cute) tote bag that you can carry your own stuff in but also to throw everything your handed into so you can keep moving. I liked having a cute one because it made me look... well, cuter.

Talk to an accountant since I'm not one, but a lot of expenses related to attending conventions like that are tax deductible Thought I'd throw that out there.

edit: woops GR already said this ha but it's worth repeating!

I am dying to go to an adult expo, but I noticed that none of the sites I work with will be at the expo. Have any of you worked for the convention itself? Like being an EXXXOTICA Hottie?

I did Exxxotica Miami last year with the BBW Fan Fest booth. I handed out business cards & post cards that had a QR code that lead straight to my c4s store filled with mobile sized clips...my sales went through the roof that weekend and the few days that followed!!

If you are a long time Chaturbate supporter, over the age of 21, broadcast frequently, and have a large following we'll pay for hotel and flight. If you are not selected but still want to attend on your own we are happy to purchase your ticket to enter the expo. We will also provide a secured wireless network if you want to broadcast from the booth. I also take the girls out for a nice dinner every night and you are invited to join.
