Default What kind of "rules" does your club have?

After yet *another* management turnover, I showed up last night to find a shitload of new rules posted. There was much grumbling among both girls and customers... I've never worked in a club that had so many rules for the dancers. The only real "rule" I've ever seen is a mandatory 5 hour shift.

    - Mandatory 7 hour shift (because "when it was 5, girls were leaving at 3 and 4"... uh, just don't let people leave early?)
    - Have to work 2 slow days to work a Thu/Fri/Sat night
    - They switched it to $10 air dances on the floor, and if you are giving too much contact, $5 fine.
    - Oh, and I guess this rule already existed but I just found out last night, if you want a locker, you have to work the 3 days a week minimum AND they have to know the combination to your lock.

So what rules does everyone else have?

Oh my gosh as if Phoenix dancers didn't have enough to worry about right now! I bet the 7 hour shift thing will be enforced for like, a week, before it goes back to the way it was before. Hopefully! That would piss me off so much!!
The rule about having to work 2 slow shifts in order to work a busy night will probably not be enforced unless Friday night rolls around and 100 girls that haven't been seen in weeks/months show up to work. Then they might send some of them home to let the girls who are actually somewhat loyal to the club work instead, but otherwise, why would they ever not let girls work? It's pretty much a win-win for them.
The air dance thing does SUCK though. For $10, guys could literally go to any other club and get a lot more contact. However, it might make it really easy to sell the $20 dances though. "Do you want a no-touching $10 dance, or would you like a VIP dance?" It's kind of a no brainer for the guy if he's already there in the club.
I wonder if they are just putting all these rules in place cause it's summer and they're freaking the f*** out? (and if your club is anything like mine, we've been hit HARD the last 2 weeks.) They might have also made them because girls are club-hopping like crazy right now trying to find where the money's at, and they're trying to protect the loyal girls and to dissuade all of the new girls that are bum-rushing the place.
You've already worked at my club, so you know all the rules there, lol!

    Stupid rules suck.
Rules at my regular club are okay-there aren't too many it's pretty relaxed.
(I get bored and go to another one every couple months or so, and I work one night a month in another regularly).

-No chewing gum, £5 fine if youre caught with it, £10 fine if you're caught disposing of it incorrectly (i.e sticking it to something)!
-We have to be there half an hour before our shift begins. If we're there 27 minutes before , or 5 minutes before, we're fined £10.
-we pay a fine if we leave early, I've only done this once-we've had a harsh winter and it was freezing. My glass was shaking as I was talking and I was shivering, not very attractive. I paid £20 to leave before I got fucking hypothermia.
-£20 dances have to last 5 minutes, if we finish one early we're fined.
-We have to be topless within 2 minutes for a £20 dance, and naked within 3.
-In a VIP its' topless within 5 and naked within 7 unless the customer wants different.
I cant think of any more.
I HATE airdancing. I find it difficult to sell in an air dance club and they play havoc on my joints!I ache so much the next day-I would put it down to age, but It's ALWAYS been like that for me.

Yay! I'm glad you replied, another Phoenix girl! Your club has no real rules, haha, I wish the manager hadn't skeeved me out so much :/
I do think they are freaking the fuck out... I think Mr. Cooper freaked the fuck out when he saw his profits for the last 2 months, actually, because there's a new GM as well. They're trying to compensate for any money they can with new fees for the girls and customers.

The thing with the 3 shift rule is annoying because I do have a very sporadic schedule; I actually don't generally work Friday/Saturday nights, I just thought I'd give it a try last night since I had no plans. I have a really nutty schedule between various college kid things, so the whole *point* of stripping is to be able to show up when it's convenient. The 7 hour thing is just stupid; check your roster and say "NO, you can't go home yet" to people, or fine them if they want to leave early. It's not rocket science. If you need more girls to stay between 4 and 7, incentivize it; keep the house fee low longer or something. I think they'd alleviate that by making it a flat $10 or $15 to come in anytime before 4, and THEN sharply go up to $35+.

I didn't mention in this post, the $20 dance can be had IF you purchase a $20 wristband to go upstairs. The management was like "Oh, we're the last club in town to not enforce this $20 entry fee bit, they're just whining that they can't get contact for $10" No, you're the last club not to offer a $20 dance option; I know Sugar 44 and Babes have the $20 dance but there is no $20 wristband nonsense. I was like "Yeah, $20 dances!" until every single guy I sat with had been to my club before, and called bullshit on the club pocketing an extra $20 for them to have the "privilege" of sitting upstairs. Apparently 2 girls' regulars told them they would not be returning last night.

I wouldn't mind the air dances except for the fact that there's no incentive to go upstairs, unless you want to compete with the 2 girls up there who allow tit-sucking and touching everywhere. Apparently new GM doesn't know the laws, because he told me "Aw yeah, whatever you're okay with upstairs goes". They just want that wristband $$$.

I mean, it has been hit really, really hard here, but enforcing a bunch of new rules that's pissing people off is NOT the way to go about keeping your dancers and customers happy... I'm not really a club-hopper, I was happy to stay at Christie's, but THIS SUCKS.

too many.. and they change a lot depending on people's moods
mandatory ten hour two-day-a-week schedule and you also have to work a weekend day and a sunday
you pay an extra 25 for every half hour you are late and if you are a walk in you pay an extra 25 if you are there after opening
you pay 25 for every stage set missed
you can't wear anything sheer or anything that shows your ass. some managers won't let you wear any two-pieces
    no eating on the floor
no seafood dinners allowed in the club
you must pay your house fee by midnight or an extra $25 is tacked on
if you call out you pay house fee and you cannot walk in for the rest of the week
no contact allowed ( although NOBODY follows that rule)
you must be totally naked by the last song, and you cannot touch yourself ahem down there. you have to keep dancing and no stopping and talking to customers onstage

and pretty much whatever the manager doesn't like at the time. he fired a girl for having a broken ankle with a doctors note wanting to leave.

Wow! You ladies have to put up with a lot of bullsh-tty rules! Our rules have become much more relaxed since I was at my home club years ago. They USED to be:

-You MUST be tan with nails done. No up-do's. Must also be very thin.
-No talking during reviews or a fine will be enorced
-must show up on time everytime for the stage set, even if giving a private dance.
-house fee goes up 20 per hour each hour you're late
-must tip bouncers or your life will be hell
-as far as hours/days....they have minimums HOWEVER they give preference to the hottest dancers and they can work really whenver the hell they want
I'd grab my trumpet and I'd do a stripper sound, like the old Louis Armstrong, real raspy. And the people would go nuts! Then I knew that the sexual, sensual, guttural sound, that throbbing sound, is where it's at.

Holy crap Simone! That is a lot of BS rules!
And Selina, that sounds crazy that they are doing that! Maybe if there were actually customers there between 4 and 7, more girls would stay! I wish clubs would try to attract customers with awesome happy hours and drink specials, rather than rob the customers and girls with more fees when times got slow. And OMG a $20 wristband!!! WHat a joke I can't even imagine trying to explain that to guys, especially the one left over here in Phoenix during the summer. I have never heard of that. I like the way Bourbon does their $20 VIP section: If a girl does any dances up there that day, she pays an extra $10 on her house fee. That's it. Even if she does 500 VIP dances, she only pays an extra $10, and the guy doesn't have to pay extra. **hugs** Sorry to hear about all the insanity over there!

OMG Simone, I thought I had it bad! That's so ridiculous!

Yeah, I KNOW. It's getting insane. They need to stop strong-arming customers into paying more money. I mean, if you're gonna insist on raising prices, raise your door fee or something. I think it is super tacky to charge a cover, then charge a drink minimum, then hassle them about a freaking wristband... it's like "Haha! We've got you inside, now you'll pay whatever we want!" They really would have better luck offering happy hour or something

YOU HAVE A PET GATOR? You are my new hero. Omg. All I have are black tree monitors. They're not quite the same, though if I put wings on them they'd pass for dragons.

There's a lot of fist fights at my club between the girls (or were, not so much anymore). There was a really bad one a year and a half ago, so "management" TOOK THE COUNTER OUT OF THE DRESSING ROOM and left a six-inch deep one in its place to discourage us from being in there. The following rules were taped to several walls in the back, although never enforced. HA.
-Only 3 girls in the DR at a time
-Only 10 allowed on one shift
-If you are involved in an altercation, you will be asked not to come back (yet no one was fired in any subsequent fights)
    -No rap music, ever.

None of the club's rules are really enforced. That sounds like it would be nice, but really it just makes for this ridiculous hierarchy amongst the girls. People get hurt. I know this isn't "Kmart", but no one should feel physically threatened while on the job, or be afraid to go to work because their coworkers are threatening them. Our girls always use the Kmart anecdote, but it's also not highschool, or a prison yard. I hate my managers. They exert no pimp hand over the unruly ones....

There are very little rules at my club and for the most part, they are fair and practical.

-You're suppose to work a 6 hour shift but they let you leave after four hours
-You get fined for missing stage
-No smoking in the dressing room
-Illegal activities (drug use, prostitution, assault, etc)

    That's about it.

    ^^ That's Vegas yeah?

A housemom actually texted me last night at 10pm and asked if I could come in. I almost died of laughter. You shouldn't have to text in girls on a Saturday! If you weren't pissing people off with your shitty rules, they'd already be working!

    *No touching.
    *No grinding.
*You don’t have to take anything off on stage unless you are given at least a $20.
    *Designated gown nights.
    *No boots.
*You must have you bum covered (to stop ladies wondering around in g-strings basically).
*If more than one dancer is on the stage at a time you are required to take turns on each pole (this is more unspoken and just plain courteous).
*If you miss a table, then you have to pay $50 to the girl you left up there for 30 minutes.
*If you don't show up for a shift or cancel in time then it's a $150 fine.
*House fee must be paid by 3am (they are pretty felixable about this one, but I pay as I walk in the door to get it out of the way...I'd forget otherwise lol).

Hahaha I dunno. Maybe it fuels the fire once it's started? I think that was an attempt to clean things up a bit (hahaha I died laughing). The emphasis was on swear words - no cussing in songs at the most infamous stripclub in the area. YEAH RIGHT. Like that was really going to last...

    Yup

I can't imagine working at a club that has a long list of arbitrary rules. I never understood shift requirements; I'm an independent contractor, not an employee.

EXACTLY. Gah. If I wanted shift requirements, I'd have a waitressing job. The point of this is to come and go as I please. Sheesh.
