Default Deja Vu Clubs. Love or hate?

I've worked at two Deja Vu clubs one in Nashville and the other in Sacramento. I know Deja Vu pretty much owns like all of California but what are your personal thoughts/opinions/experiences with them as a company?

I personally have a love hate relationship with them. I HATE their taxes on dances but they're usually fairly clean clubs which I can dig. They just take so much money from the girls. The very corporate feel kind of bothers me too. I dance because I enjoy it and it allows me to travel, and Deja Vu can just be so corporate sometimes it's annoying.

Deja Vu is the McDonald's of the sex industry. It has a purpose.

I love Hustler Las Vegas - it's my home club. It's way less of a mind fuck than Sapphire or Spearmint Rhino where you are nothing but another chick amongst hundreds a night. Management and bouncers at Hustler are great to me, and the dressing room is enormous and clean with big lockers and showers. The money is up and down like all of Vegas, but once you have some of the door guys and VIP hosts working with you it's consistent.

^Yeah, that'd be hard to swallow. I might be able to handle a 50/50 cut, but anything less than that just seems like extortion to me.

I'm shocked Deja Vu/Hustler hasn't stretched its tentacles into Philly.

I worked at a Deja Vu chain in Kalamazoo, MI. It was called Little Darlings but had all the same rules (but not nude). A friend and I started working there as an alternative to working in the extras-ridden Detroit, so the cleanliness and professionalism really was a breath of fresh air. The money was decent, but on my second shift there I caught the eye of the club's biggest spender who would then come rent out the VIP room with me almost every time I worked. Once he and I stopped talking the club had gotten pretty slow and I haven't been back. The management was cool.

There's a Hustler here in Detroit that recently got new corporate "deja vu" management and since then the club has done a 180. It used to be filled with extras like all Detroit clubs, but the new manager came and cleaned it out and warned the girls that they better not be caught doing extras. It's now one of the two only clean clubs in Detroit. I haven't danced there yet, it's been really slow lately. One of these days I'll check it out though.

the nice thing about djv is that it owns several popular names like hustler, showgirls, little darlings, etc, so tourists will recognize the name and go there because hes familiar with it. the extra ppl plus the fact that their tourists (more likely to spend than locals) makes up for the large cut, tho not all djv clubs have a large cut. my fav for many years was a djv in sf and there was no house fee and the cuts were very small (officially 20% of vips, tho I never got charged more than 10%, no cut of dances) and it was full of upscale guys, conferences, and tourists. the money was amazing there. hustler in nyc was great too, the hosts hooked me up a ton and it attracted really good clientel.

I think djv is too big a chain to generalize. I have worked at some amazing djvs that have much better clientel and fees than independent clubs but ive also been to a few that were awful. its the same thing with spearmint rhino- I worked at a few in socal that had really high cuts and when I started traveling to vegas girls at my club would tell me that they didnt want to work at rhino lv because the cuts were so high and they couldnt imagine dealing with those cuts with higher competition and I had to tell all of them that lv sr was totally different and didnt take any cuts, just a small house fee. you would never know they were owned by the same company because they are so different.

Yes, there isn't one in IL, but I think there's one in IN unless it changed ownership

Actually, there is in IL! There's supposedly a Larry Flynt's Hustler Club listed in Washington Park, IL. Or if you wanna just try the corporate route in general there seems to be a few dif PT's & one Showgirls (not sure if it's affiliated in w/ Deja Vu showgirls or not, though) in IL. They may not be in Chi, but they are listed in IL. Just check out stripclulist.com

God, nothing would make me happier than to never have to dance at another deja vu club again. Thieves.
