    Question ankle boots...

I think that this is the category for my question...

Ankle boots (boots that go above your ankle..) VS. regular plastic stripper shoes:
Which type is more difficult to break/sprain/fuck up your ankle in??

    Lol I'm clumsy
And also throwing around the idea of maybe dancing again like once a week or something.

ankle boots above the ankle are the best for not tripping and falling the ones w no ankle support are the worst ones, i fall in more often.

Why not opt for stripper heels with ankle straps instead? Or 5-5 1/2 inch heels instead of 6-7 inch ones until you find your stripper feet again? Some clubs don’t allow boots and I don’t know how comfortable ankle boots would be to dance in or how they would look paired with different outfits (i.e. they wouldn't look good with a gown for example, amoung other things IMO).

    Thanks for your responses

I never had stripper feet haha
I only did it for a month, 7-8 times --
I guess the better question would be, how on EARTH do I walk in stripper shoes!?!?!?
    Any advice?

Haha I thread jacked myself a little bit.

when i started out, i used very low stripper heels ( and i mean like maybe 2 inch heels) with ankle straps til i more used to walking in heels and slowly graduated up. my friend uses the ankle boot high heels and they look awesome! im going to get a pair, if they are super high i think the chances of sprains will be about equal though

If you're clumsy, you will need to pace yourself and practice. Get your center of gravity aligned correctly. Take it slow and take your time. Even if you plan on dancing infrequently, wear the shoes for a few hours a day and get your bearings. After a long vacation, I put on my heels and I stumble a little for the first hour or so. Stay familiar with the way it feels to wear the shoes. It will be much easier.

HOW to WALK in Stripper SHOES:

The simple answer is: PRACTICE. PRACTICE. PRACTICE.
Practice at home, practice doing moves, practice walking, spinning, shimmying, and wiggling. Practice sitting down and getting up. Practice walking up stairs if you have them (I don't have stairs so I stacked my encyclopedias into a makeshift staircase). Practice getting your outfits off and on in your shoes.

    Beyond that,
    1. Find shoes that fit. If you're a size 7, get size 7 shoes. Ask yourself, do they feel loose? If you're in a store, try on a pair that are a size smaller. Try on a pair that are one size up. Remember, brand new shoes WILL STRETCH. Depending on the brand, the width of the shoe can vary. Karo, Tony's Shoes, The Highest Heel skew towards the tighter side of the spectrum. Ellie's are shorter (in length) and wider overall.

My guess is that you got shoes that are too loose, walking in loose shoes is a recipe for disaster.

    2. Consider purchasing shoes that stick, the stripper shoes with clear uppers tend to stick to your foot better. Clear uppers stretch better over time. I find that PVC (black, red, silver, white) uppers tend to be comfy enough, but get very loose over time.

    3. Straps. You may want straps. You have options...
    For example...

    This style: http://www.snaz75.com/pl-sky-330.html
    This style: http://www.snaz75.com/pl-sky-308.html

Anyway... If you like ankle boots, remember, they can make your legs look shorter. But I always thought they were cute, especially with thigh-highs. Good luck.

    PS. WTF?
    Stripper feet? What....?

    Olive's words, not mine...

    These are my (eventual) goal:
    http://www.eleveneast.com/product-p/0969-8.htm

When I used to dance, there was this girl in 8" shoes (kinda like ^^^ those ones) that *glided* around the club.. I envy her and wonder if I'll ever be able to look like that ...

You ladies are of course right; it's going to take a whole lot of practice.

    Boots-wise:

    (^^similar to the first one)

    (^^ again, similar..)

(^^ pretty!! I wish they had girls wearing them for the pic, hard to tell what all these would look like w/ feet in them...)

(^^ not those colors haha; I LOVE the fact that I'd be almost flat-footed. I'd like to minimize the foot/ankle problems as much as possible. I'll have to look for boots/reg. heels like that in a different color..)

@Sophia -- Thanks for the reminder about snaz75.com!!!!

I love love LOVE stripper outfits/shoes.... Wearing stripper gear is pretttyy much the only reason I want to dance again

^Trust me-you will get use to it, your feet will thank you and you will wonder why and how you ever wore anything else . They make smaller heels (4, 4 1/2, 5, 5 1/2 inches) so you could always try a lower heel to begin with and work your way up to a standard 6 inch heel.

Umm...I would start off with a chunky style rather than trying to practice around the house in 7"ers. Practice can only get you so far. It's hard to simulate what dancing is truly like when at home (lap dances, what it feels like to touch down after doing a spin on the pole and then walk to the edge of a stage, bending down to take a tip, etc.)

I started off with these in white: http://snaz75.com/el-656-march.html

And graduated to shoes like these in white: http://snaz75.com/pl-adore-702uv.html

Many men say that they don't like boots because they like to see a stripper's whole leg, and say that boots interrupt the lines of the leg (some guys love boots, but I'd say the majority like to see women in a simple pair of heels).

You can see them across the club because they're UVs!

    Do they scuff up easily?

Good question. Honestly, I haven't danced enough in them to know. They feel like they're made of a better/harder material than typical dancer shoes, but I'm not sure if that would make them scuff more or less easily. Also just depends on how much floor work you do. Some girls do crazy shit when they dance like slam their heels together, kick/'tap' the floor, etc...
