When it comes to mini dresses or bikinis, I don't think the expensive ones are usually worth it. However, I do think that quality, well-made gowns are better than some of the usual, super cheap stripper gowns. But, in either case, I honestly don't think most guys notice/can tell the difference/care.

Oh, and I wanted to add that sometimes if it's something that I think is realllly pretty or cool, I'll buy it even if it is a little on the expensive side. One of my favorite parts of my job is being able to have fun and dress up! Where else or when else will I be able to wear these outrageously hot outfits? After all, it's only money... and I'm all about making myself happy. I liking buying whatever I want. It's why I became a stripper.

When it comes to gowns, yes. Do not skimp on your gowns, you can definitely tell the difference.

YES! There is totally a psychological dynamic behind what you should wear. Look at what other girls in the club are wearing. Wear something along those lines, yet completely different that still stands out.

You don't want to be the only dressy girl in a dive. And you don't want to be the only dive-y girl in an upscale club (in fact they probably will fire you or tell you change). However, TRY IT and see if it works. It also kind of depends on what your look is (hair color, hair length, hair style, body shape, color, face, etc).

Just experiment til you find what works best for you. Don't look like all the other girls, but don't look TOO different to the point where you scare off the customer base.

Yep! I never saw them ever wear more than like 2 outfits.

Most of my shit is gonna be expensive no matter what because it has to be altered. Apparently skinny girls with huge tits are imaginary creatures. Best investment I made was a $75 chain mail outfit-nothing but leather and chains

All of my money making dresses are $100-200. It tends to attract a better quality customer in my case. I only buy outfits that fit me perfect or have them tailored which helps too.

I work at an upscale gown club where most of the girls have "dancer clothes" and stuff from victorias secret. Most of the girls have tons and ton of outfits to the point where they have to haul in a suitcase. To me that seems kind of pointless and a waste of money. I just have a small duffle bag and a few gowns, which I've acquired over the past year. I do believe that buying something new every once in a while does help my money because I feel excited to try it out and it increases my self esteem. I know guys don't really give a crap what we're wearing...they just want to take it off

I think it depends on what you can afford and the type of club it is.

i find that investing in hair, makeup, skincare, and HEELS is the best. i invested in these heels and they have really made me a lot of money:

they were about $250 and guys can see them from across the club. they look really nice and luxurious. aand in my experience, it's a great conversation starter for the GUYS because it gives them a reason to talk to me:"wow! i've never seen heels like that, those are gorgeous!" etc. over the top heels are less intimidating than an over the top outfit, i feel like.

i'll pair those with a mini dress, something simple but polished.

in my nice but i would say mid-tier club (where girls basically never wear gowns, all mini dresses or long skirt sets), that's what makes me the most money.

also, i ordered a pair of heels from glitterheels.com today, i'm excited to get them and try them out. with shipping they were $100 (less than half of these pleaser bejeweled) and since there's no rhinestones i won' thave to worry about htem falling off, like they eventually started to do with the heels above ^^.

If you’re working in a dive or more relaxed club then no and in most cases no expensive stuff will not necessarily make you more money, however if you’re working in an upscale club then might want to invest in some pricier stuff.

I personally do not buy expensive clothes for work because the club I dance in is a very relaxed, borderline trashy club where the guys don’t really give a shit. Plus I find it’s about how much the outfit costs it’s more about how you look and feel while wearing it.

I know I make a ton of money whenever I wear white or dress up as a schoolgirl. The school girl outfit barely cost me to. I had already owned some pieces like the white dress shirt and black blazer. So sometimes you don’t even need to buy anything to make an outfit you probably already have some stuff in your closet you can out together and use.

Do the rhinestones fall off fairly often? Or do they just start to fall off after a few months of dancing? And are the missing rhinestones obvious?

i've worn these 3x a week for 9 hour shifts for 6 months and i've had a few in the top front fall off (im assuming from contact with the floor) and its not obvious at all because underneath is painted a holographic silver. TOTALLY worth the investment.
    these are called pleaser bejeweled

edit: the pleaser star dust heels are NOT worth it. half the rhinestones fell off within a month.

I don't spend lots on outfits because for me it doesn't make business sense, I make just as much in a medium priced gown than an expensive one and they both last the same amount of time. What makes the difference for me is keeping in mind the 'butterfly effect' when i buy an outfit, you have to make yourself stand out like a butterfly, sequins, bright colours, colours that flatter your hair colour and skin tone and obviously show of your figure. This also makes me feel super confident which increases my sales.

I totally agree-my latest picture in the 'pictures of you' thread-aside from the pleasers my outfit cost about £13. I have made mistakes in the past with more expensive dancer outfits.

Plus, with cheaper outfits, you're more inclined to switch it up every now and then and use different outfits. Whereas with an expensive one, you feel like you need to wear it more to make sure you've gotten your money's worth out of it...

but at the same time that outfit becomes your "money outfit" and every time you put it on you know you look amazing and do well wheras if you are constantly switching it up and don't do well one night you get self conscious and freak out over the outfit and get distracted thruout the shift! plus it makes packing your bag really easy haha, just thro the shoes and the one outfit and Im good to go!

^Agreed. I was just pointing out a potential downside (lack of variety). Lots of girls like having some variety to keep both them and their regulars interested. It just depends on what type of club you're working in (regular-based? or tourist/high-volume-based?) and what you personally prefer.

I'm getting my tits done in 20 days so I'm about to whip out all my Agent Provocateur and La Perla and see how well they do in my club since I'll have to toss the bras anyway. I haven't worn them up until now because stripper clothes get so trashed and it's horrifying to think of ripping a $900 set of lingerie when I'm not earning nearly that much on an average night.

Why not sell it, if not in your or other club(s), Ebay or there's a selling section on here too, for free!

I say go for it! I bet you'll be badass because the lingerie will pump up your attitude which is great to leave the club with a bang since you'll have to take time off for your recovery.
