Don't get me wrong a black woman can def bank at a white club but you will work 10x harder and sometimes still not do as well. Secondly the earning potential is NOT higher in white clubs. You just need to learn to adapt to the club environment. If you don't learn this you will fail as a stripper wherever you dance at. Maybe a club like Perfections isn't your thing, I'm just saying don't Set your mind on white men thinking they're any better. Maybe a mixed club is more your speed, maybe you can do dayshift and weeknights at a black club when things are alot more calm. All I'm saying is keep your options open because all money spends the same
I'm sorry that you've had that experience but I've worked at several white clubs in the city for about 8 years and have never had a customer tell me to my face that they don't want a dance from me because I'm black. One time the house dad at flash did my makeup really thick and someone told me I looked like a man but I just kept it moving and made my money. As a dancer you have to have thick skin. As for not every white man secretly wants a black chick...ok sure, but when I'm at work in my head I tell myself that and I also say that I'm the hottest chick in there. It's something I learned from a book I read by Napoleon Hill and for me it works. Several guys that are known regulars who only go with Russians have gone with me. I personally don't think it's too much about what you look like but more what you say and how you say it.

As for working 10x harder than the other girls. Sure I do, I have to buy all these wigs, change the way I speak and got rid of my accent (I'm from the Bronx). But that's ok because I'm 10x better and stronger.

I've worked in Queens for a little bit when I got burn out from all the high fees and stuff in Manhattan. But you know what, I went back because the earning potential, for my style of hustle, was much better in Manhattan. I found in Queens you had to go on stage too much and too long. Sure you can get tips on stage but I prefer to stay off the stage and hustle and try to get someone into VIP and that's hard to do if you're constantly pulled away to go on stage.

My dear, I am sooooo sorry for you. I know how that feels!!! I honestly think that the hardesr part is just getting into the clubs. After you get in, it gets a bit easier and you would never know how competitive dancing is until you get started. I was in your shoes too...living paycheak to paycheak working at a restaurant. So although I dont make tons of money working at my club...if I dont spend like I never had money...I make way more than I do at my last job.Start out close to you...good luck, it is hard at first but it does it better.

I never had a white guy insult me to my face. In fact I've had several white customers spend alot of money on me. But after hearing stories on here and in real life from my black dancer friends in white clubs I know it goes on. Maybe no one ever said anything to your face-even that sounds like a stretch but for arguments sake I'll roll with it-but trust me they thought it or said it to another dancer behind your back. That's good that you found a club to suit your hustle but the jabs your taking at black men and black clubs in general make you sound delusional.

Once you start stripping and have some spare cash you could get a couple of wigs in different colors and styles and try them out. Like if you think lighter hair will make you more money at one club than darker hair and vice versa. Like ToeOfTheCamel said I have tried different types of clubs and found that I usually make more money at one type since my look isn't versatile. You could potentially make money in many kinds of clubs. Heck you could even lie about your ethnicity to play up whatever look you're sporting.
Yeah I was thinking of playing as another nationality since people confuse me for so many different ones to begin with!
I think that's a great idea I actually found a great youtube guru who does reviews on a TON of wigs so I can't wait to try them out.

thanks so much for all the support guys!

Yeah, if anyone ever asks what your ethnicity is, you can tell them to guess, and just say they're right and "omg, everyone else thinks I'm such-and-such, how did you guess??" Or something along those lines. A stupid amount of custies think I'm Russian, and I'm very much not Russian, but I agree sometimes because that probably means they want an Eastern European girl...Update us on how it's going for you in the newbie board!

I believe Gallagher's 2000 in LIC hires under 21. You could take the 7 train over and maybe a cab home if you're working at night. I wouldn't take the 7 from there at 4am. You'll make good money there.

Thanks so much for that tip! I get that because apparently my accent doesn't sound Aussie, even though I'm (anglo) Aussie as faaaaaaark! And I have a thing for Brazillian guys, so I'm sometimes guilty of guessing a guy is Brazillian based off a few traits - and sometimes being way way off - because of wishful thinking.

Hun, did you get a job?
I believe Sapphire still hires under 21, you just have to wear a bracelet.

Thanks for asking, I FINALLY got my wig last weekend and I get paid this Friday so I'm trying a bunch of places next week!
I'm going to try flashdancers again I'm just worried cus I heard management is so bad
I also read Sapphire has the same rep as Headquarters when it comes to extras so I'm not sure about there, and its also in a secluded area I'm not too hot about traveling alone in that area.

I may also try some new places in Jersey if I can figure out the cab fare, but I'm determined to start dancing. I will post a new thread soon!

Sapphire is not as bad as HQ. You can make money doing dances at Sapphire. At HQ, you cannot plus I don't think they hire under 21.
Flashdancers/Private Eyes/NY Dolls are all owned by the same management and yes, it sucks but they usually don't care about your age or if you're even an american citizen. LOL. Good luck !!

Pretty much this, I went to visit Private Eyes a while ago and they barely even looked at my driver's license for my age.

I auditioned at Flash and they didn't even check my ID and didn't ask for my social. Just told me to be there at 7 tomorrow. LOL, I never went back. PSYCHOS.
