    Default Gown clubs?

I'm planning a few strip trips this summer and will be checking out upscale clubs in a lot of big cities. Most of these are gown clubs, so I'm trying to build my gown collection to get ready for traveling. I am wondering if most gown clubs have many strict rules about the type of gown they want you to wear? For example, I want to get a few two-piece gowns but I would hate to spend money on gowns that I can't wear. I'm getting some custom made and probably ordering others from the kamala collection, so I want to make sure the money is well spent. I don't want to arrive at a club and have the house mom tell me my dresses are too slutty. I've heard of house moms being very picky about gowns at gown clubs. I will be visiting NYC and Atlanta for sure, and possibly other cities such as Chicago, NOLA, and Denver. Any experience?

Denver Diamond is not a gown club anymore. Ny is and they have to be one piece, Chicago too and they( the last time I worked there) were very particular about no see thru, no neon, the slits had to be a certain way. A lot od clubs are not doing the gown thing anymore. A lot of clubs I worked in a few years back were gown clubs but aren't anymore, I'd call and ask so you don't waste money. I wear custom made 2 piece gowns I pay 160 for and couldn't wear them at ricks nola though girls could wear cheap ass one piece short dresses if I wanted to wear a long one it had to be connected in the middle!

If you were going to wear a gown i would say to make sure that you at least have the staple floor length gown with a slit that more highlights your curves than showing them, that way you can have a fall back if some of your other ones werent allowed.

What kind of attire is allowed at Diamond now? There are no gown clubs here in Detroit anymore, even the top tier ones, so I just wear sexy lingerie here. Would that fly in Denver or is there some other type of dress code?

I'll definitely have to call the clubs. I'm getting some two piece gowns for sure, so I'll just have to have several back-ups for clubs that are more strict with them. Although places like NY and Chi don't allow two piece gowns, I hope I will at least be able to wear a one piece gown that shows off some of my stomach.

When I was last at Diamond girls were wearing pretty much anything. I saw little skirts and bra tops and short dresses and some gowns. The changed the rule to you can wear two piece and some wore short stuff.

Once you know what kind of gown you need, do a search on here for gowns. There are many links to great, affordable gown-makers (not just snaz75).

ugh every gown club ive worked at has had their own rules, I wouldnt bother ordering before unless you feel like spending a whole bunch of money...a lot of these clubs are picky about shoes, you will probably need to change your shoes anyway because they may fuck with your gown, and you may need to spend $$ getting your gown altered...its a whole lot of hassle and a lot of clubs have stores connected to the club or even inside the club and the house mom often has gowns available to rent out for a day. I would say buy a middle of the road gown (like the kind with the super thick halter and tie/band going around the ribcage if that makes sense) and then wait till you are actually there before you spend more $$.

I would hold out. Wait until you are at the club you want to work at and see what the rules are. The house mom will have a stock of that fit the rules of the club. My old club charged $100 a pop per gown.

If you're buying gowns before you go I'd stay away from prints.

It should, Kamala gowns are really common to see in Manhattan clubs. If you want to hold off on getting a gown until you get to the area, there is a store called Empire Exotics by the Empire State Building that sells decent gowns and thongs that are styled for the city clubs. Also Kamala has a studio in Astoria (not far from Manhattan) that you can go and actually see some of their ready-made gowns.

This is my gown staple. I have it in red.

I've never had a problem at any gown club with it.

That gown is gorgeous by the way, I've seen a black variation of it in person.

Yeah that's the thing with Kamala gowns...sometimes they're a little too common.

Yeah, I was worried about that since I heard that in NYC a lot of girls have the Kamala gowns. My mom's old friend who she danced with a long time ago now makes clothes, and specializes in stripper clothes/gowns. I saw that dress at Kamala collection and I might just use that as a rough blueprint and design my own gown and have it custom made by my mom's friend. It's OK if the dress is similar to other girls', but I'd really hate to be wearing a dress that other girls in the club have on!

Also ladies --- does anyone know of gown clubs in the cities that DO allow two piece gowns? Perhaps Michele11 you could help me out on this?

    Something like this or this:
    http://www.kamalacollection.com/Kama...p/hyp-4001.htm
    http://www.kamalacollection.com/Vani...p/hyp-1031.htm

I really like two piece gowns!

Those count as one piece, Nina. I have both, lol. Kamala is 100% good in NYC. As long as it's connected SOMEHOW, you are fine and it cant be see through.

Ahhh ok, thanks ladies! I know Kamala lets you custome fit your gowns (which I will need because I'm petite with small boobs) but luckily there is also a tailoring/alterations place right by my apartment just in case. I also want to get it tailored to add padding. I usually dance in push-up bras now.
