    Default Single moms

If you are a single mom what are you doing to get sleep.. I have a 5 & 1 year old & I'm extremely sleep deprived.. I'm getting extremely cranky!!! I have tried every alt I can think of.. I started off taking my kids to daycare but they were also tired from being woke up in the middle of th night.. The I decided to switch to a 24 hour daycare .. But I was so tired from getting 2 hours of sleep I felt unsafe driving.. I know have switched to a live in nanny situation & it's completely not working out!!!!!!! If anything it's more stress because the women started off great now it's been a week & this woman has got to go!!!! I was completely honest about what I needed from the start hours wise.. I'm frustrated!! I need sleep!!!

that sucks..does your 5 year old go to school? any relatives or friends willing to help out? what exactly are your hours and the arrangements now with your kids? more background info would help. for instance, i work 2 or 3 days a week in a row, my mom takes my 5 year old for those days and i get him back for the rest of the 5 days..a 1 year old is a lot different though i realize. being a mom is hard and you often don't get enough sleep, but depriving yourself for too long will make things worse! i always rave about the benefits of sleep and how very bad for you not getting it is for your body

Learn how to take powernaps for 15-30min
    Cutback your work hours
    Cutback your school schedule

Put your nanny to work so you can get rest:
Have him/her clean or cook, pick up kids, drop off kids, anything kid related that will help lighten your plate

sounds like you also need to lessen the work and school load if you kids are sleeping fine. being a student you get no sleep and on top of that working fulltime and being a mom? forget about it! just switch to part time?
