Question Do you wear perfume at work?

There are some older threads on here about perfume (both personal use and work use), but I want a new thread on the topic.

So we all know by now (hopefully) that customers don't like strong perfumes, because they don't want to leave the club smelling like adulterers. That said, I think it's good to smell like *something* other than just your natural body scent. Some guys are into the no-scent thing, but I think most guys want dancers to have a clean, light scent that won't rub off on them but still smells pleasant.

So, do YOU wear perfume at work that guys seem to really dig? Or some kind of lotion or fresh-smelling deodorant? And on that note, what do you use for hairspray (which can be the most strippery smell of all if you use a strong-smelling brand)?

Lately I've been wearing nothing. I get compliments on the lack of perfume (I don't really smell like anything when I don't wear anything), but I'd like to get compliments like "you smell amazing, and thanks for not wearing a strong perfume!"

This is me. My compliments are more along the lines of just smelling amazing though, nothing about lack of (strong) perfume or anything. I don't like perfume, can't be bothered with lotion, and just rock clean/fresh-smelling deodorant. If I'm not straightening my hair, I'll spritz something into my hair to keep it from getting frizzy and for the curls to stay nice, but that has a very light scent anyway.

When I wear perfume, it's a pheromone type thing in a rollerball. Has a scent like pina colada, but faint. I got it from Playboy catalog a long time ago, I don't think they still carry it. I like those rollerballs, but the ones that you see in Whole Foods they don't seem so strong. I have a peach one I got from a record store that's nice. Definitely for warmer season I like lighter, fruitier scents, but still not overdone.

After I shower I use John Frieda Frizz-Ease original formula hair serum for medium to coarse frizzy hair in my wet hair - at least when I remember to use it. Then when I'm rocking the curls/waves, I'll use either Alberto give me texture tousled hair spray or Umberto Giannini Curl Friends natural curls styling spray. More often than not, I just straighten it and leave it be with no product though.

I use the bedhead spray I think it's called spoil me, neon green can with pointy pink cap. I hate crunchy hair so this stuff is more of a serum feel but in an aerosol.
I try to avoid lotions but the couple scents I use are bbw country chic and capri seaside citrus. I'll also use armani code for a nice non-floral scent or love express for something sweet and fruity.
During fall and winter I'm obsessed with bbw sweet cinnamon pumpkin.

I wear a really light scent that's been discontinued for YEARS. Romantic Wish by Victoria's Secret. I only apply it on my wrists then I rub my wrist on all of normal perfume places

Iwork in clubs were the guys don't want to go home smelling like perfume or have glitter on them. I wear marshmallow fluff from body bakery. It smells like marshmallow to me and it's really light( wont rub off on guys) Almost every guy I dance with laughs when I tell them. One guy actually said" so what do you do rub marshmallows on you before work", yes that's exactly what I do. HAHA.

I used to spray the hell out of myself when I first started. About a year ago I stopped doing it and wore less, just a couple sprays on the side of my neck under my hair and thats it. I also get compliments on NOT wearing too much perfume and still smelling wonderful. No lotions or hairsprays and a simple deodorant... It works for me so I stick with it. I feel like no matter how much I spray myself with my scent, I always come home smelling like a bar and everyone elses crap anyway. I like fresh scents also, citrus, melon, and right now gardenia Nothing heavy.

Right now I use "Heavenly" by Victoria's Secret. I bought the shower gel, lotion, and perfume set. At work I use cheap lotion though, and only a couple squirts of the perfume. That way it's lovely smell but it's light, not strong enough for a man to worry about it staying on his clothes etc.

I will admit that my perfume is too strong for the club -I'm a VERY "law abiding" dancer, but that is a stripper sin I commit! I get away with it because I don't douse myself in it. Usually I just spray or dab it on my pressure points at the beginning of my shift, or top up if necessary and use a deodorant if I feel self conscious throughout the night (i.e. if I've had an energetic stage set, during summer).

I always get compliments on my perfume (I'll get asked. "what perfume are you wearing?!" at least twice a night) and seem to do better whilst wearing it-so I continue to do so . I would NEVER work without anything on-but a lot of the time hair products (a lot of these smell fresh and pretty), tan and a roll on or spray on deodorant are enough to cover up the smell of the smoke machines, spilt drinks (from that annoying customer you get once in a while that spills beer on you accidentally gr?!), tan, sweaty stripper-ness and general SC smells.

Everyone is different-but I think wearing it or not really depends on how much perfume you use (no one wants to smell like a grandma after all), whether your chosen scent suits you and whether it makes you feel more comfortable and sexy . Personally, I like having a "token scent" and not wearing the same perfume as everyone else (so many girls in OZ wear Britney and while it's a great stripper smell-it's not for me. It just doesn't suit me).

Smells can be VERY powerful-my perfume reminds me of work and so when I give myself a lil' spray it's like turning on the Olive switch (the smell of tan does this also).

I dont wear perfume anymore.when I use to then i would just do a couple of sprays behind my ears at the beginning of the night. Actually even when im just wearing a deodorant guys have often told me how much they love my perfume.

Im rotating candy by prada and guilty by gucci right now which guys go crazy for (they honestly arent that strong if you hold your arm far away from your body) and I get tons of compliments. I think that having a real perfume (vs wearing a ton of vanilla body spray) is good but really recognizable perfumes have made it awkward for me...like guys would always bring up their wife or mom when I wore chanel no5.

I wear Gucci Guilty every time I work...I get compliments all the time on it. I put it on my wrists and neck, neither of which really touch the customers so I don't think it makes them smell... I imagine it would be worse to use scented lotion, because that would rub off on their clothes.

This is a good one too: http://www.fragrantica.com/designers/ (it's a really ugly site) Note the graph where people have rated if they like the scent, if it's better for day/night, etc.

And be sure to read peoples' comments - since they're written by fragrance laypeople, they're often more accurate when it comes to reflecting how people experience each scent.

^It's actually quite different from Angel, I'm not an Angel fan . It is a unique choice though-I've never met another girl who wears it ITC (and it's not too common OTC either)...and I like that .

Yeah, I figured it'd be nothing like Angel since TM has only put out a few scents in the last couple of decades. But I also figured it'd be equally unique!

Anyway. I'll stop threadjacking my own thread. Back to the OP!

I love TM's Alien! It smells so... not-perfume-y, like you just happen to smell like green apples and fresh grass. It has almost no musk smell to it.
