    Default Dressing room annoyances

What things annoy you in the dressing room? I can't stand spray in my face when I'm behind someone doing their hair. I also hate when girls ask me to do their lashes/hair/self tanner. And when someone leaves their crap at my vanity while I'm getting ready and asks me to watch it. And girls who have all their phone calls on speaker.

Also, what annoying things do you do? I always seem to take up three or four vanity spaces before a lot of girls are there and forget about it. And apparently I whistle while I'm getting ready.
    "Strippa please."

"Stop announcing me as the girl next door type. It's misleading. I have very questionable morals after all. Eventually I imagine I'll wind up incarcerated. Or on the news."

When girls ask to use my phone.
When girls ask for gum, spray, makeup, baby wipes, etc. I don't mind once in awhile because we all forget things sometimes, but when it's the same girl all the time, I'm like "how broke are you???!"
When girls won't leave me alone when I'm obviously absorbed in my phone and don't want to talk.
We don't have that many lockers, so they are only to be used during your shift, and inevitably girls will decide they're special and they'll claim a locker and never take their lock off of it for months until there are hardly any lockers left for everyone else and management cuts them all off lol!
Vagina spray that smells like baby powder...idk why, but that stuff makes me gag!
We have a girl that sprays herself down with aerosol fake tanner before every shift right in the dressing room, leaving the tile around her extremely slippery (and of course she goes on stage right after that too).
When there are 5 straighteners/curling irons that are left ON and HOT on the counter for hours. (Our dressing room is really tiny, so counter space is valuable real estate.)
When girls bring in multiple suitcases/duffel bags/their entire studio makeup collection and leave it all out all over the place.

    Annoying things I do......
I tend to accumulate a large collection of drinks in my area.
    My bag is really big.
I'm one of those girls that is negative and bitches when it's slow.

I can't stand it when girls play music from their phone/ipod without using headphones. I don't want to listen to crappy pop and hip-hop (from your shitty tiny phone speaker) while I'm trying to soothe my nerves enough to put my eyeliner on straight before I go out on the floor. Ugh, it's bad enough that i have to hear that shit in the club :/

I hate the overzealous hairspray bitches. Yes, I realize that having a pixie means not knowing what it's like, but please stop. I hate breathing that shit in. Same goes for the overzealous body sprayers.

My guilty habit? Just like aperfectseal, I'm also bitchy when it's slow.

Speaking of girls using my phone, I had a girl in Philly borrow my phone for 3 shifts straight. Then, one morning at 7fuckingAM, whoever she was calling started blowing up my phone and talking shit to me. I didn't even really know this girl, I was just being nice by letting her use my phone, but the dude calling just wasn't happy with that answer. Bitches will never use my phone again.

I do most of my preparation before I come to work. I don't understand how people can wait and do it all there in front of everyone. I take up very little space, I don't spread my shit all over the place. I don't understand how people feel ok doing that, either. I like to get outta the dressing room ASAP. I do, however, get drunk and kinda crazy by the end of the night. I think I was slapping another girl's ass last night in the dressing room, but I barely remember...

the gossip gets on my nerves!!! or when you walk into the tiny dr & all of a sudden they indirectly talk shit about you to get a rise out of you or to fuck up your mojo.

Definitely the bitching. I CANNOT STAND IT. It is such a mood killer to bounce in feeling awesome, in the zone, ready to make bank...and walk straight into a room of girls whining about how awful everything is. YUCK.

On the same page - the girls whining/crying/bitching about boyfriends. Stop wearing your crazy out into the world, ladies.

Girls who feel the need to make comments on my outfit - I know what works on me. Unless your comment is "that's inside out" or something practical, STFU.

I basically show up ready, and head down ASAP. I only return for water or at the end of the night. It's just a toxic environment most of the time.

Yeah, I don't understand the girls that hang out in the dressing room all night. I'm pretty quick about getting in and getting out. I also get ready for work at home, so all I do back there is freshen up, change, or get a snack. You can't make money from back there!

Veteran dancers who have "their" spots to put their bags or to sit. You guys know who I'm talking about; that dancer that has been in the club for ages, that feels that she actually owns the dressing room.

I get annoyed when girls will try to share a chair with me. Theyll pile their clothes ontop of mine, and it makes the process of finding my clothes again slightly challenging, as i will literally have to dig through their stuff to get to my stuff. We have like, 20 chairs... so I don't understand why girls would rather share than get their own?

An annoying thing that I do: I often sit on the countertops, especially when I do my makeup. I guess that's why the above happens, lmao.

I guess some girls find it oddly empowering to make uneccessary comments about others. ugh. Yea the DR is prob THE most toxic part of dancing IMO. I don't make friends, I walk in ready to go, and usually change out in the bathroom that way I can have my couple of shots of funzies then out on the floor i go I noticed I made more $$ when I stopped going back there for anything, esp changing or freshening up bc my moods weren't destroyed

Sometimes I think that the commenters honestly think that they know it ALL...which is why it kills me. Having recently returned to the club I was at a couple years ago, all the dancers have changed (for the most part) and so some of these new girls seem to feel that it is appropriate to give me advice. BAD advice, at that.

As in "You aren't showing enough skin with that outfit" - actually, this accentuates the best parts of my figure and leaves them wanting more. Why would someone pay to watch you take off orange dental floss? I can already basically see you naked.
or "You should wear bright colors": again, I am wearing a carefully constructed "classic" lingerie look that has worked for years.
    etc etc etc.

It's never the experienced women offering advice, it's the girls who have been working somewhere from 3 weeks to 3 years, and have decided that they have it allll figured out. I like to point out that I have been dancing since before they were legal, and then go make 10x the money they do, and feel quietly smug when they are back up there at the end of the night bitching about how "slow" it was.

    End rant
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

I pay extra $10 just to have the DR to myself & avoid the mindless chatter and struggle talk...I don't want to hear about your car troubles, baby daddy troubles, money troubles, etc....if only I could play 'bitch don't kill my vibe' song as a theme song when I enter and leave the DR. I try to limit my time in there.

How do you do that? Does your club have a pvt "rental" dressing room or something? Or do you pay the other girls - here's $10, now stfu while I get ready? (that would be hilarious!!!)

I wish I had that option....I just try to get in early and ready to minimize DR craziness.

Dressing room annoyances......Hm, our dressing room is so small that a lot of girls get ready in the actual club/dance room bit sometimes-no mirrors there though-they then come into the room to check themselves over when they're done!
I get annoyed by folk asking to borrow things ALL THE TIME!Don't get me wrong I'm happy for a girl to use my straighteners/babywipes/make up-I don't mind-I'm not a nasty person BUT when it's the same girls every week that never bring babywipes and just rely on the fact that me and a bunch of others always have them-that gets on my tits bigtime!
I don't really like putting other girls' fake tan on-I like being helpful but I always worry I'll get it wrong or something.

Annoying things I do-probably a bunch of things that are annoying. I am usually there early enough to hog one of the best spaces (near mirror/plug etc)
I leave my electric cigarette on charge in there all the time and there aren't so many plug sockets
I'm messy, I tend to take up a lot of room...
I have on occasion been the girl needing to borrow things-I went to work in a new club once and my pleaser sole peeled off randomly-queue me having to ask a well established dancer if she had some nail glue-luckily she was nice, It's why I try to be nice to other girls-we all need help sometimes, but when people take the piss! lol x

There's always a loud stripper who's probably drunk, complaining about her life and spilling all her personal issues out to anyone who can hear her. I can't stand this!

I also can't stand when I arrive for night shift and there's a dayshift girl in the dressing room who couldn't make it through her shift without getting shitfaced. I really don't like being around people who can't hold their liquor because they don't have enough self control to make it to the bathroom when they have to puke.

Honestly, I spend so little time in the DR that I no longer have any complaints. When I get to work, I change into my strippah clothes, throw my bag o' shit under the DR counter, and walk out onto the floor.

Changing a tampon in front of everyone.
5 girls hogging up the one-stall bathroom so they can all do coke together in paranoid peace, locking all of us out who actually NEED to go the bathroom because we're on stage next, all while there is a perfectly private and locked-off alley out of the dr that they could use for the same purpose. FUCK. I hate that! I feel so bad for the preggo girls when that happens! Back in my day, bathrooms were for taking shits, not bumps and pictures!
Checking your butthole/vagina for TP in my mirror space. Even if I like the girl...Come on....That's your butthole in my reflection's face! Grosso.
The girls whose life is a constant meltdown/panic attack, and everyone needs to hear about it, except the therapist she refuses to see.
Girls who try really hard to engage me in shit-talking in which I'd rather not engage....

    I:
forget gum sometimes and have to borrow some.
    sit in other girls' chairs.
boobscoop too much for comfort, probably. lol

I haaaate when girls are blow drying their hair (or panties - ew) in the dressing room. Don't know why, but the sound of the blow dryer just irks me. Also, girls playing music with no headphones. Annoying. When girls come in and bitch about the housemom if she's not there to provide EXTRA services like makeup, hair, or waxing. She doesn't HAVE TO do that!

Things I'm guilty of: I've passed out in the dressing room for hours on more than one occassion. Always after an awesome day ($1500-2000), and at that point I could care less what any of the girls think. I'm sleepy, $%&@ you. Also, my friends and I play around back there a lot. I'm sure that's annoying to other people but, again, who cares.
