I normally have chronic hypoglycemia confirmed by tests and ongoing symptoms. However, I took a Primatene tablet today and my blood sugar has been fine (though I have no at-home glucose tests to check the exact numbers). Any other day, I would be eating every two hours to avoid passing out, but today, I have no signs of low blood sugar. I read that ephedrine can cause elevated blood sugar, so I guess that's the case in me. But does anyone know whether I should be concerned about this..? I mean, I feel great. I would take this every day if I could, regardless of any affects on weight loss/energy. I would like to hope that since I'm normally chronically low the ephedrine just boosted me to normal ranges, because as I said, I feel amazing. Chronic low blood sugar has been fucking up my life to the point that any time I leave the house, I'm afraid to not have a source of sugar on me. I have glucose tablets, small bottles of juice, and whole grain crackers on me at any given time. Not being on the verge of passing out all day has been wonderful.
If nobody has any information on this, then would this be an okay thing to ask a doctor, considering I'm using a OTC medication for asthma for other reasons (though I do have asthma)? I know this is really common, but I don't know if it's appropriate to discuss with a doctor and I'm paranoid about getting a lecture/being labeled a crazy OTC drug abuser.
