I'm working at a couple of clubs right now - one that has stationary poles, and one that has spinning poles. And at both clubs, the poles are almost unusable because they are completely banged up. I don't even know how to explain it. They aren't smooth like a pole should be (they're smooth closer to the top where there's less wear & tear)...it's like they have hundreds of small dents in them. They look normal from far away - it's not like they're bent or anything.
I literally don't even understand how a pole could come to be in this condition. They're all either chrome or stainless steel (silver-colored metal). They also seem to all be perpetually greasy...not even an alcohol-soaked rag can make it easier to use them (I'm assuming it's because of all of the dents). And these are fairly nice clubs; it's not like I'm working in dives where they're using pipes as poles.
Has anyone else come across a pole like this? Do you know how this happens to them?
