Travel Smart girls' guide to surviving strip trips

Post your advice on traveling for work.1) bring lotion. Hotels can dry out your skin, hotel lotion is useless and it is better to bring along a lotion you prefer in case you cannot find a bottle to purchase at your destination. If you need to purchase lotion at your destination, go for one meant for sensitive skin or babies - being on the road is not the time for you to discover your skin doesn't like a certain fragrance or ingredient.2) pack a pair of lightweight pajamas to protect your skin in case the bedding is scratchy, cheap, etc. and protect against any excessive friction in the case off tossing and turning on an unfamiliar bed.3) a pair of thick socks, because floors are dirty!!4) a satin pillowcase to protect your hair and face from friction5) important phone numbers written down in case your phone breaks, disappears, or you have an emergency situation and an emergency contact needs to be reached.6) protein and fiber-rich snacks in case hunger strikes, so you can avoid impulse food purchases from the mini fridge, room service, McDonald's, etcThese are things I've thought of that are cheaper to bring from home rather than picking up at your destination, but can also be picked up at a nearby pharmacy or whatever if need be and will make life easier while you're away from home. I'll think of more and feel free to add your wisdom.

nightshades and I highly recommend a smartphone or tablet with a tv subscription or downloaded files already on it. I never would have survived all of my trips without netflix or hulu, it just gives you a nice feeling of "home" to curl up and wind down from your busy night at work with a new episode of your favorite show. plus when all youre doing is working and relaxing (to prepare for work), what better time then to binge watch a show youve been meaning to watch?

    bring eyeshades!!

visit a nearby spa 2/3rds of the way thru your trip. you don't have to get a service, just pay the ~$20 for a day pass and spend a couple hours there bouncing around the different jacuzzis, saunas, steam rooms, rock rooms, etc while listening to music or watching tv on your phone. its a wonderful way to recharge your body without shelling out big money for a massage. btw this is a tip for regular life too, I try to di this once a week even if im not traveling.

if you are traveling to a tourist destination-spend some time with a map. guys from out of the country always want to know if you know where they are from, so even if you don't know anything about the country it just helps to recognize the place. like "oh yah, denmark, no ive never been before but im planning on going to europe next year and its totally on my list of places to go!"

Make sure you have more than enough money saved at least 2000 depending on how long you plan to travel, bc theres no guarantee you will make back what you spend if anything. Also down south has great extended stays from 180-250 weekly. They have internet and a kitchen so you can cook vs eating out all the time. Value place is a pretty safe one as it locks after a certain time and someone is always on staff, its not glam but its decent and clean(ive only had one bad one when I first moved to FL). Not sure what all states they have them in but their site will let you know. Of course your laptop for those lonely nights so you can come one here lol. Lastly, become well acquainted with the hotel staff so they can let you know whats going in the area
