Default Clearing Canadian Customs with Stripper Shoes?

So school's out and my sis and I are going to go dance in Alberta. We are both dual US/Canadienne citizens but we both go to school in North Carolina. We are flying into Toronto via the Toronto Int'l airport and will clear customs there with stripper shoes and exotic dancewear in our carry-on luggage, as delta airlines only allows carry-ons free. We will be traveling with very close family friends into Toronto airport and don't want to be stopped and questioned at customs in front of them should they question 7 inch Pleaser heels in our carryon. (are those even allowed in carryon? they are sharp!) because apparently there are US girls who are trying to go stripdance in Canada illegally now that it's legal for only Canadian girls. However, we both have dual citizenship but don't want to risk them opening our luggage in front of them. They are definitely the smothering, mothering type, as well.
Or, I could CHECK the bag for $25, and hope that customs STILL doesn't question us. We wont have cars in Canada and do not want to be stuck without shoes the same day we are booked to work, and want to have a pair of heels ready to go.
I've looked into buying heels from Canadian websites to be sent to a Canadian address (the club) but there are NONE! Only US ones where we have to get to the post office to pay the GST in order to retrieve the package, and we won't have a car the first week. And Shipping stripper shoes to Canada costs a boatload!

Just check the bag. Since you're traveling with people you don't want to know about the shoes, it's safer to just avoid that chance all-together. It's only $25. That's basically the cost of a dance.

I'm surprised you haven't found a website that delivers shoes... orangeclubwear.com does, they also have an eBay store. There are tons of other eBay stores that deliver to Canada.

I've travelled with them to Canada in my check in with no problems. Just say you are taking pole dancing classes.

Absolutely not. Shipping to Canada is hella expensive and it takes forever. People suggest this but one would have to ship it weeks in advance to arrive, on time. That package has to go through customs, too. Just sayin'.

I just went thru Toronto customs, late Thursday night. The agents, themselves, don't touch anything and all they do is ask you questions. If you're concerned about it, don't mention work. Just say you're on vacation, with your family (which is true). There's nothing in your carry-on but clothes. You're a student. You're also an actual Canadian so I have no idea what your concern is. They'll just wave you through the domestic line and you'll be in your way. Why even show your American Passport or ID? Just show Canadian ID and say you're coming home to visit family and you'll be more than fine.

I also suggest packing luggage and checking it because stripper gear can be made of weird stuff and it may draw attention, going through the normal detectors. Also, I'm sure you'll have cosmetics or anything else that shouldn't be flown with. Just pack it and check it. $25 isn't even that much. Mine cost $60. But it's not like I don't make that back.

Just a quick thought you could always mention you're a promotional model and/or part time print model and you need the shoes for a shoot....or your a stylist for photoshoots and those shoes are required for the models to wear?
I'd grab my trumpet and I'd do a stripper sound, like the old Louis Armstrong, real raspy. And the people would go nuts! Then I knew that the sexual, sensual, guttural sound, that throbbing sound, is where it's at.

I've gone through domestic Canadian security with porn shoes in my carry-on and it was fine. International is probably a bit tougher, but I wouldn't be too worried. Checking is probably the best solution, but I can understand why you would worry about that with all the horror stories of lost luggage.
