i think summer brings on the burnout. i think money is always a good motivator, and makes you wanna go back into work, so when it's scarce or the hustle is harder, we feel defeated, self-critical, and the anxiety/dread creeps in. it seems to pick up again in september, when kids go back to school, moms/wives are busier, men are more restless... then it's good thru february or so, better again right after tax returns, then slow again, and the cycle repeats...

i find that if i start worrying about money/getting my hustle on too early in my shift kinda makes it worse for me, so i'm trying to be a little more light and casual and try to let it come to me rather than me getting all uptight about it too soon.

Yeah. There's a HUGE difference between chronic burnout and "it's summer, so it's just a bit slow" burnout. This thread is for the former.

After dancing on and off for six years, trust me when I say that I know the difference!

"If you leave now, you'll have to pay a $60 house fee instead of a $30 house fee. Don't pay those bastards an extra $30, stay home and leave earlier tomorrow."
I say that ALL the time. Same with the weather things, the "It's Sunday/Monday/Tuesday, nobody is coming" bit, the "My roots are showing, better wait until I get them dyed" thing....

I've had this for a few months now and it sucks. I blame it partially on the $10 dances, because customers are getting this mentality like they have the upper hand - they seem to have less of an ego when they have to pay at least $20. It drains me to deal with that nonsense.

In the past I nurtured my after stripping career. I feel better about my future opportunities, but it also makes me appreciate how lucky and blessed I am to be able to dance. Even sometimes going for lunch during 9-5 lunch break at a Starbucks or Panera and seeing a blip of what daily life is for many makes me appreciate the club more.

I love saving money and being able to buy things. I hate eating away at my savings when I could just get my butt in the club and make what I need. I spoil myself a lot. I'll go into work bc I want money for shopping and end up making more than I need.

I think sticking to 3-4 shifts a week is key. You get plenty of time to refresh and pamper yourself bordering on too much time on your hands. You also reduce the feeling of needing to make a certain goal which I'd imagine comes from working less shifts.

The Spiritual work I have been focussing on since about August last year has led to pretty strong guidance and self awareness. I recognised that the lack of conciousness inside the club has been a drain, particularly as I am operating from a level of emowerment and awareness. I recognise that I put a limit on the level of joy I allow myself to feel, and the trust in the benevolent, abundant universe.

The emotional pattern for me is to stick my head in the sand (by isolating myself from work with whatever justification I tell myself), I tell myself I am letting myself down and then I am my own punching bag, however- the script of self defeat in my head is not mandatory, I can choose my actions and be authentic despite and because of the feelings I have- I am going to change my perspective and find my gratitude.

I am a human being having a spiritual experience.

Or perhaps you are a spiritual being having a human experience. I say that because we all want to make the most of our time there but the people there push buttons that often are hard wired to give a big reaction. We can't block out a lot of the things they do. It's like hitting a person's knee, the leg pops up whether you want it to or not. So the experience is draining and all you can do is pull back from people who are emotional vampires or abusers purposely trying to get into your head. Then, refuel yourself outside the club on your days off, and make plans on where to work next or what career you want to take on next.

Thank you for this! I love Tony Robbins, and that Raise Your Standards video really resonated with what's going on in my life in my life right now.
