Default Where to stay in Las Vegas

Hi! A friend and I are thinking about visiting Las Vegas for a few weeks and dancing out there. Anyone have suggestions on decent/cheap hotels to stay at that will be relatively close to some of the bigger clubs and that are good places to stay while we try our luck in LV?

    Thanks!

Circus Circus and Riviera are cheap and in close proximity to most of the larger clubs. They are also walking distance to cheap diners / drug stores. I'd stay there when I use to travel to Vegas and never had any problems.

I looked into Riviera but it seems like Priceline advertises one price and then they slap on high resort fees. I'll take a look at Circus Circus as per your suggestion. Thanks!

Any one else have others ideas? All are welcome to share

Go on priceline and bid or they have a new thing were you don't have to bid and get 60% off. or hotwire. Prices fluctuate during times of high demand and low availability it's best to put your dates in on hotwire or priceline and go from there....

artisan has a flat dancer rate, even shitholes like circus circus will push their rates up to $300 or more during a convention, and when you are traveling to lv you should only come during big conventions. stratosphere is usually the same price as circus circus but much nicer so I would stay there if you insist on being on the strip. theres a lot more food options at stratosphere.

I would stay the hell outta vegas untill fall, october is when season starts, trust me ive tried it in summer and it sucked so bad. But as far as places to stay I find circus circus to be most affordable, If you are flying like I did, I flew southwest and booked the hotel through them (this was cheapest) it was only like 20 per night. OH an u must go shopping at Caesars palace, its the shiiit if your into high end stuff, especially if you bank in vegas, fun place to blow that $$$!

Thanks Folks--All of these suggestions are great! Does anyone know how to locate dates when BIG CONVENTIONS are taking place in LV? IF I knew when Big Conventions were happening then it would be much easier to plan my trip.

I stay at palace station. During the week its 20-25 a night and on the weekends it's 60-75 a night. Its just a bunch of old people that stay there and their cafe has the bomb breakfast. I heard summer is shitty there but it can't be as bad as Dallas. Theres a few conventions going on mid month this month so I will be there next week just to take a break from crusty ass Dallas.

I definitely second Riviera. I stayed there one Christmas and it was really nice for the price (only like $35 I think).
Anything on the Strip and a lot of off-the-Strip will have resort fees of anywhere from $10-$30... it's shitty but that's how it is in Vegas.

I stay at Palace Station. Super inexpensive, and the towers are really nice. Plus decent food and a cheap cab ride away from the clubs ($10 ride to Rhino). I used to stay at Circus Circus but the kids drove me insane and the food options were limited.

I booked myself at the QUAD hotel on the strip after talking to a load of people. I got a great deal and I hope that its a lovely spot while I audition in Vegas.
