    Search Bralettes?

Have you ever bought one? Do you like it? Any recommendations for good stores to buy from?

I haaate underwire bras (they're overkill for small bewbs), and bralettes look like a sexier alternative to sports bras. They're weirdly expensive though, so I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it or not. Lots of them also look like they're very flimsy...like they might fall apart in the first week!

I've been looking at options like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Cosabella-Wome...words=bralette

I have the same predicament as you. Ever since I started dancing I suddenly developed an aversion to bras in general and hate wearing them. Must have been because my boobies got used to the freedom for extended periods. Under-wire bras are now very uncomfortable to me.

After a long bought of laziness I did find these thingamajigs at American Apparel and they were decently priced:

Not really the most sexy thing, mind, but they do the job. I've had mine for over six months now and they're still in good shape. I love them are they are super comfy.

I have a couple. They aren't really good for work, and the lace is too itchy for my taste. Sometimes I wear them under a tank top, but for lounging at home I prefer to wear a sports bra or let them free.

I have a few that I got from JCPenny. They tend to be more affordable, 5-20$ per I think and have a decent amount of cute styles. I just got a couple basic lace ones that actually look almost exactly like what you posted, though I can't find them on their website. If you search 'soft bra', 'bralette' or 'lace wirefree bra' some other styles come up.

I have bigger (fake) boobs and I don't mind them for support (wouldn't want to run in them), they also haven't fallen apart yet!

I love love love bralettes, unfortunately I am a natural 34DD so I won't really get to wear one unless I go fake and don't need the support I currently require.

Hanky Panky has lovely styles but they are quite expensive. However, if you have a Nordstrom Rack in your area they usually carry Hanky Panky stuff at much more reasonable prices.

This website isn't exactly affordable in my opinion, but the smaller sizes do go on sale and it's a fun lingerie site to check out anyway. http://www.dollhousebettie.com

I had one, I wore it more for working (a lingerie bar). I think I got it from like Marshall's/TJ Maxx or somewhere..To me, that's more like a camisole not that that's a bad thing, but to me has little/no support. I wear lighter underwires.

I wear the AA lacy bralettes as a sportsbra. Waaaay sexier than white spandex and they're super comfy.

I love how pretty they are and have one from Victoria's Secret, but I'm a 30ddd (34d equivelant) so they don't offer the support that I need.

I wouldn't recommend them for larger naturals.

Def no support for big girls but I'm a 32GG (I recently found out!) and I wear at night to bed. I like to sleep on my side and need something to keep them out of the way. I used to wear a sports bra but it was really unsexy. Mines really comfy. I got it at a lingerie shop for like 50 bucks and it's almost the same as the one posted above on amazon.

I think I bought a medium which was way to loose around the body. If I bought again I'd buy the small. I wear it like a quater cup anyway with my boobs sticking out the top.

I have this black lace one that i got from the mall, the brand is (Intimately) Free People.

    http://www.freepeople.com/soft-bras/lace-crop-bra/

It's been about a year and the elastic is starting to fail, which is sad because I wish it would've lasted longer- it looks so good! I'm going to buy another one online right after I make this post.

I love how bralettes look. But I'm a natural 36D and not very perky. I wanna try one on that looks supportive because I know otherwise they will disappoint me

Victorias Secret has cute ones. Also, is it pronounced Bra-LETT or Bra-LAY??? My coworker called it the latter and I was confused.

Awww, they have cute colors, too! Thank you so much for the link.

Do bralettes make it less obvious when you're nipping than if you weren't wearing anything at all? The one thing I don't like about sports bras is that they aren't great for nipple modesty. I'd imagine bralettes are similar?

I've been into bralettes recently since it seems like every other shirt I buy is completely sheer. All of the ones that I bought were $3.99 each. I picked them up at two different stores, Danice and Conway. I'm not sure if these stores are only in NY/NJ.

I love bralettes and resent my real bras now. I'm a 36B so I don't need much support. I only buy ones with padded cups that way I don't have to worry about nipping.

Hahaha - I love this statement. And I know exactly what you mean!

I didn't know they sold bralettes with padding - good to know. Thank you!!

Hmm yes I think bralettes are similar but with most shirts it doesnt look too visible... some tighter/ sheer shirts do show but there is a vertical seam in the bralette and if you tuck yourself in the right way then you end up nipping at exactly part of the seam and its not too obvious at all... I try to make sure I do that. I'm not sure what size you are exactly so I can't guarantee it will work for you- but I can vouch for the fact that I personally like this bralette!

Also- I dont own this other product, but when I tried it in the dressing room, this halter was also a nice, comfy fit:

ette = feminine French ending, and therefore pronounced like the English "let." I am otherwise useless in this thread.

I have this one in a lot of colors: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban...tid=W_APP_BRAS
I LOVE THEM!!!! I am part of the itty bitty titty committee, and they are perfect for me. My husband hates them, he calls them my "boob squishers," lol but I think they're cute, comfortable, and they look great under loose tank tops and T-shirts, and pretty much anything!

Good one! And it's cheaper than many I've seen. I think they're super cute, too. I believe my bewbs are Bs at the moment (wish they were As). So these should all work for me.

One thing is for sure...they're all way cuter than the sports bras I usually wear!
