    Default Healing process after BA?

Hey ladies, I'm tentatively planning on getting a BA within the next six months or so, so I've been curiously researching it lately. I was wondering about everyone's personal experiences with the healing process. I know being able to go back to work will not only depend on how they feel but also how they look - I know it may take a while before they "drop" and all that. What do you feel like directly after the surgery? Like when you go home and rest the night of the surgery. Also what are the following days/weeks like? How long until you could go shopping for new bras? Any info on what the recovery process is like after the surgery would be very appreciated. My mom had hers done, under the muscle through the areola, and three days later she was moving to another city and says she was able to life the heavy boxes herself. Obviously most women have a rougher healing process than that, I'm just hoping mine won't be too bad! I'm trying to find doctors in the midwest who specialize in the transax incision with silicone, so that's most likely what I'll get assuming I can find a doctor in the midwest who's reputable with that incision. I'll most likely be in school at the time of the surgery, so I could arrange to have the surgery on a day where I'll have 3 or 4 days to rest before my next class. Hopefully by day 3 I will at least be well enough to go to class, without any extra physical activity having to be done.

When I got my boobs done I did so much research and went to several doctors listening to all their different recommendations and took what I thought made since. I have a nursing degree so I know a little bit about healing, etc. Mine hurt super bad for the first oh 4 days or so and I had to stay on my Vicodin rx schedule or I would be in too much pain,(my friends all say I am just a complainer and none of them had this pain, lol). Also, to heal and make sure I didnt get a capsular contractor the doctors told me that raising my blood pressure would do it so resting and taking your time is very important. I gave myself 6 weeks of no workouts at all, then started doing small things like light legs. I wouldnt lift anything for that time either, I was just super careful cause any fuck up could result in another surgery and I dont have time for that. Also, I made myself all foods the night before so I wouldnt have to cook. I made sure I had all healthy stuff, High protein and high vitamins foods are what u need to heal better. I made stuff like jello with fruit in it,etc. My boobs were never up way too high but they were up at first, I think they looked normal at 8 weeks or so, they shrank over the next 6 mo or so which sucks I wish I went bigger so bad now. I got silicon, done in stl and I love the feel of them, they are much softer and realer feeling then my friends with saline(this may also be because I didnt lift/do anything to cause them to harden during healing). My friend who got saline ones, her boobs were up to her clavicle right after she got hers done up til about 8 weeks, it took hers months to drop, she had hers done in vegas, the girls I know from vegas all take forever to drop, IDK why this is but its weird. My friend also lifted things and walked around/worked as if she didnt just have her boobs done, like most girls I know but hers arent as soft, they look great tho and she had no problems. Oh and make sure the night before you clean your house really well, bleach your bathroom, bleach your sheets, bra you will wear, etc, this willl lower the amount of germs that could possibly get to your incisions. If you get an infection, you have a higher chance of getting a capsular contracture and once u get one you may always get them again, you just want to do what ever u can to avoid this as its like the worst thing that could happen I am sure u already know if u have done your research. I didn't wear a normal bra until oh about 6-8 weeks and keep in mind your boobs will shrink over time so you may not want to go crazy with a million 60$ bras from Victorias.

I did silicone mod+ through the nipples. The first two or three days are a very hazy blur in which I navigated Netflix on my laptop with my right big toe, as it was very difficult for me to sit up. I didn't have a ton of pain, but I kept on top of my vicodin as instructed. I was a b-ish cup and did 450cc and 500cc, so it was a big change for me. My chest was very tight, and I think the worst part was standing up for the first time and feeling the implants inside of me like that and how they pulled against my skin. I almost puked in the shower, got very dizzy, and had to have my boyfriend pick me up. By the fourth day, I felt much better. Advil made me feel better than vicodin because of the swelling. I still didn't lift much or anything, but I was up and about.

I did mine in March and now girls at work have to ask whether they're fake or not. They were still a little obvious for about two months.

healing was super easy. they looked ugly for a couple months but I didnt have any "down time." obviously pole tricks and chest exercises are a big no no but driving, reaching high objects, school was all a piece of cake. the main thing with recovering is the side effects of the pain pills. for me I was really sensitive to light and sound so I couldnt watch tv like I planned and workin on school work on my comp wasn't okay for the first couple days when I was taking more than 1 pill a day. my friend said she was really nauseated and constipated, also from the pain pills.

I got mine done locally but now I know that I totally could have traveled for it because I was definitely able to carry luggage and navigate an airport by day 5.

Yeah the pain pills are a concern of mine. I'm assuming they're going to give me either vidocin or a similar opiate and I'm not a fan. The few times I've taken vicodin it just hasn't made me feel that good. I'm going to try to take it as minimally as possible and if it gives me bad side effects I'm going to take xanax, too.

I got mine done in 2009. I wanted huge porn star boobs and my surgeon and the stuck up nurses tried to talk me out of it, but I ended up getting 450 CC silicone gel implants. The day I got them I went home, fell asleep, and didn't wake up until the next day. (Very unlike me)
They hurt, but more than anything the pain was from the feeling of my skin stretching. They were very swollen and didn't look totally normal and settled for a few weeks, maybe months. Definitely don't go overboard with new bras right away.
I went back to work very shortly after and was lifting heavy things, doing pole work, etc. Try to take it easy and follow your doctors orders. I didn't, and now have capsular contracture and a new surgery scheduled for September.

I couldn't shit for a week because of the damn pain pulls. Mine were high for a bit but dropped after a few months.

you probably wont need it. the anesthesia takes awhile to wear off and after that, there is very little pain. more soreness than anything. it was nothing like when I broke my arm as a kid or got my wisdom teeth taken out or got my nose done (basically surgeries involving the bone). I probably didnt even need to take any of the opiates at all but I like them lol

I was so scared of not being able to move my arms and being unable to wipe my ass. One of my work buddies got me a comfort wipe as a joke.

Honestly, I don't think I needed the pain killers. My surgeon injected something to make my breasts pretty numb, so the extent of my pain was essentially the tightness, which was relieved more by Advil than the vicodin. The anesthesia kept me fairly loopy for the first 24 hours as well.

I forgot to mention in my first post that regular bras didn't seem to fit right till around the third month. I was out of my surgical bra the first week and stayed in bandeau tops or just shirts after that. I threw a hoodie on to go to class so my nipples weren't distracting.

Nice. I can handle soreness and even pain. I have a very strong aversion/phobia to vomiting so I'd rather be in pain than be nauseated. In fact I assume that I'll probably end up giving like half the vicodin away to people like it lol. I even avoid a lot of over the counter headache meds because I'm so worried about the risk of gastrointestinal discomfort haha. That's why I'm planning on having xanax handy, it's like a miracle drug for me. It gets me through anything and has always helped me with nausea!

I got mine through the areola but since they're huge pepperoni ones you can't even see the scars. For anyone else I am inclined to agree transax is a great option.

I felt great almost right away. Sitting up was a struggle, though. i took the pain killers for 3 days and then stopped. All they did was make me sleep. I went through the crease, silicone, under the muscle, 425cc.

Unforunately, capsular contracture can happen to anyone, randomly, at *any* time, not just during the healing process (mine waited a YEAR to happen). I di everything right: Went to the absolute most respected surgeon in my area, took the prescribed antibiotics before and after surgery, washed with medical-grade antimicrobial soap before & after, took high doses of vitamin E, massaged as instructed, etc. never had any infection, but I sure did get capsular contracture... just NOW... it showed up at my one-year follow-up. It's not severe enough to show up much to anyone but me & my doc, but it is there & I do have to have surgery to correct it in August.
I guess what I'm saying is, follow your surgeon's instructions impeccably, but be prepared for the unavoidable, as it may happen. A decent surgeon should explain to you that with BA, you have to be prepared for subsequent surgeries, as you are likely to need it, eventually, for one reason or another.
Not trying to discourage you at all, I LOVE my big pretty boobies and am happy to do whatever I have to do to get past this little hiccup. Good luck to you!

I just had my boobs done on the 18th of July and my healing has been a breeze but there is NO WAY I could have gone to class 3-4 days later. I'd suggest waiting until you can find a solid week or two minimum to heal and rest. I waited until the summer to have my surgery so I wouldn't have to worry about school and saved to take an entire month off work.
