Probably, yeah. My club only has $20 dances, no stage tipping, so I feel ya. I've cleared a grand a few times, but it's always been because I've either had one customer who spent over half of that + the rest of the shift was good or I've had enough regulars/random customers that spend $200+ come in on the same shift. Usually making a grand means staying 6-8 hours, but I think I did it once in 5-5.5, so it's doable, just not easy when you can only sell $20 dances! Regulars do indeed help, so consider a burner phone or at least email/working the same shifts regularly and making your customers aware of your schedule.
As for constantly telling your customers no -- I recommend either telling them upfront or dancing defensively so you don't actually have to say no at any point. Another good strategy is redirecting their hands or your body to places they can touch and then using positive reinforcement (smile, giggle, moan, whatever) to encourage them to keep touching there.
As for me -- I haven't done a Saturday day shift since August so I had pretty low expectations for yesterday (no regulars expected and all) but man was it a good shift. I was busy non-stop, with good clients to boot. December has been good to me thus far, so hopefully that continues!

I think I've found a 'home club' to stick at for a good while.
