Default To fib or not fib about past experience

Hi stripperweb, I'm about to audition at my club of choice. Traveled a very long way to get here! I've received contradicting advice for my encounter with the manager, and was wondering if anyone would like to weigh in.
As far as club experience goes, I have none besides being a customer. I was part of a dance group, and danced for videos. I'm not doubting I can do the job. Very excited actually!
One dancer I was corresponding with said I should be okay getting hired with the experience I do have, as she knows girls working there who had never danced in any way before.
But the other night, I spent some time talking to another, she said to say I danced before, a long time ago at a long-gone club in my home state, so I don't seem so green and I'm not turned away. I'm not exactly young- 30 but get guesses of 24 a lot. My energy's good and I'm in the best shape of my life!
Got a few hours before I head out.. this is sorta bugging me! I'll probably just go with my gut at the moment. I'm an honest type, so would it be so bad to say, "I've not done this before, but I've prepared, and I really hope you like my audition"?

They get girls all the time who have nvr danced before. I wouldn't recommend lying anyway but if you were going to lie to the mgrs abt anything, this isn't it. Even w/ your previous dancing exp you may have a better handle on nerves than most new girls, but it'll probably still show that you've nvr done this kind of dancing before. Good luck w/ your audition

Most clubs hire new girls who've never danced before, I don't see the big deal or need to lie. As soon as you get up on the stage for the first time, management will know it's your first time anyway.

I would lie. a lot of clubs will stick new girls on shitty shifts or not hire them at all. just lie, name a club in a different city and if anyone asks after youve been hired and look awkward onstage then tel them that you aren't used to stage since you paid to stay off at your old club

I would probably be honest, a lot of clubs like new girls because custies like new girls. But if it was a big club or the best club in town or whatever, that was really strict with hiring, then I might lie a little lol. In that case I'd just say something like "oh, I danced over the summer two years ago at (obscure club) and loved it!"

If you're not sure but want to lie to help your chances, I would stick with a very unpromising lie, like that you danced a few shifts at this club your friend works at, but it's just too far away for you to consistently go in. To me, it says that the initial shock isn't there and that you're ready to work, but the manager should expect some typical new girl awkwardness.

Rereading your post, I realize you probably already went in though, so hopefully it all worked out!

Always tell them you're experienced bc it can sometimes win in your favor, besides customers LOVE fresh meat :p

Wow I am surprised at the polarity here......I thought it would be a unanimous "tell the truth". I started dancing 4 months after I turned 18....going to school, you've heard it all before....looked about 14 (apparently I still do, if I don't wear make-up I've been mistaken for my bf's 15 year old brothers gf - creepy......and his daughter....creepier), but anyway. Never danced, did gymnastics for 10 years, I was kinda a total tomboy, so I looked like Bambi in those heels. The manager told me I was the first person to ever say "I was inquiring about any available employment opportunities...." or something crazy to that effect.

I got hired, although my manager insisted I always bring my ID apparently a few customers didn't believe I was 18.....I mean being new and knowing nothing......I made killer money. In fact when I switched to a larger club I would always tell customers it was my first week, and "I've never done anything like this before", sweet lil ol' me. It was almost always a guaranteed dance, because "maybe they could be my first in the couch room, I've been too shy to go so far.....just been doing table dances...." Hey gotta make it somewhat believable. Girl.....trust me that's crazy guys LOVE a "stripper virgin"! Whenever new girls came in we would call their first 3 months "new girl money months". You go on with your bad new girl self !

LOL oh, yeah I thought you were telling her to say she WAS experienced, which confused me because you made the fresh meat comment - it does work great though, right !

Yes, guys like to think all strippers do outside of work is stay in a constant state of undress. Or experiment with their female room mates. Sorry if thats sexist, but 8 years of collective observations count for something.
