    Default Stage name

I'm sorry if this isn't an okay thing to make a new post about, but if its not, I'm sure someone will tell me..
Anyway, I was thinking about a stage name and I have a few that I like, but I've ways been very find of unisex names.

So, what do you guys think about Frankie?
Do you think it's a good one, or does it lack that certain.. Sexiness?

I was also thinking about going by Dani.
If you like or dislike either of these names or have a better one you'd like to suggest, I'd love to hear about it.

oh, I also play roller derby and my derby name is "Rhode Island Red", it's an I love Lucy reference, so you know a bit on my personality.

    Thanks in advance!

Frankie and Dani are awesome names, but I will agree that "Frankie" does lack a certain "sexiness". At least you aren't naming yourself after a celebrity (living or dead) or giving yourself a ridiculous sounding last name. I kinda like "boy's" names for strippers.

At one club I auditioned at where they already had a Tempest (surprisingly enough) I went by Dylan.

Looks like we aren't supposed to be starting stage name threads.

In any case, if you're going to pick a masculine name, either go all out and rock an androgynous look (knowing that it will limit your clientele) or make up for it by dressing very feminine. Above all, you want a name that's short and easy to remember. The actual name doesn't really matter when it comes down to it, and there doesn't even need to be any meaning behind it.

I'm very sorry, I read the FAQ, but not the replies to it, I guess.

I am terribly embarrassed about my silly mistake, is there some way that I could delete this thread?

I've worked with both a Frankie and a Dani before -they are real/actual names and they are short, easy to remember. If you like "I Love Lucy", Lucy might be a cute choice if available also .

Other cute unisex names I've come across inside the club: Jamie, Taylor, Billy, Kodie, Jessie, Alex, Drew, Jordon, Dylan and Ashley.

    I like Frankie, a lot.

I'm just wondering whether it's sexy enough or not.

I've gotten it down to three; Frankie, Dani, and Chrissy.
My name is Kristen, so Chrissy wouldn't be that big of a stretch.

I know a lot depends on your specific area, but has anyone noticed how well different hair coloured do?
Specifically, how well does natural red do against blonde?
Or a darker black or brown?

I guess I'm just wondering how well redheads make out in general..

    Anyway, thanks!

^There are a lot of threads about hair color and how it affects earnings if you want more varied responses. Many girls tend to think blonde is the ultimate stripper color, but being a natural blonde who dyed her hair dark brown and went back to blonde because it seemed the stripper thing to do, I find that I do best with a dark shade, possibly because it makes me feel sexier. I've also found that many guys want a stripper with the stereotypical look--dark tan, bleach blonde, large implants. This is particularly true among younger groups of guys; it's almost as though they're afraid of choosing a remotely alternative look in front of their bros (a brunette stripper? bro, are you gay??!). But that's just one look that speaks to one group of customers. I think being a sexy natural redhead would be a huge selling point, and in case you are not experienced with bleach, please know that it's a pain in the ass to use and an even bigger one to keep up with.

    And I vote Dani!

Natural red is SO hot and very unique nowadays. I would keep it. AND wear green!

I figured I'd be depressingly walking over to the hair salon after I finished at the shop, to have them bleach the color right out.

Oh, what about girls who have unnaturally colored hair? Do they do well?

    And my biggest fear-
What about curly vs straight hair?

I'm curly, massively wild curly. Natural red/strawberry blonde (My hair is becomming blonder as I get older). The most common comment I get is; "you remind me of Nicole Kidman in BMX Bandits", "I love your curls", "Your hair is beautiful/amazing/wild". It is a standout feature that sets me apart- but it must be worn with confidence or else it wears me, and I start to feel like a wooley mamoth

My hair variates between this three pics in curl, however I have a great haircut (following the curly girl method, http://www.amazon.com/Curly-Girl-Han...der_076115678X) and if is worth investing in a hairdresser who knows this method and listens to your experience about having curls.

    nicole 2.jpg
    nicole 3.jpg

I do believe my total look helps to make my hair be an asset. I have immaculate makeup (maintained throughout shift), pro mani and pedi, smell good, outfits and shoes in excellent condition (no tears, fading, rips or holes).

How to style your hair depends on the rest of the look that you are trying to achieve.

I used to go by "Frankie" when my other name was taken as Frances is my middle name! So I'm biased! I think any name that resonates with you is a winner and personally i lean towards names that have a more authentic sound, but with the names kids are getting these days i guess "traditional" names are not what they used to be!

I will never stop giving this advice, since I wish I'd taken it before I started dancing...

If you choose a guyish name, you will get SO sick of the "what's your real name" question that anything positive you gain from having a cool, original name will quickly wear off. A name like "Frankie" might fly in PDX, but in most places, you'll want to rock the sexy girl-next-door name (you may even be able to get away with a more exotic name, depending on the club). Choose something sexy but realistic. Even better if it's a name where you go by "Nikki" in the club, and you can tell customers "well my real name is Nicole, but I go by Nikki here..." or something similar.

Remember, stripping is not an opportunity to be original and to change the patriarchy's definition of sexy. It's an opportunity to make fat stacks. Sure, some people make it their goal to be different and accept the consequences with pride, since they feel they're making an impact (seriously - good for them!). Even more rarely, some people stick out like sore thumbs and bank off of it in the right club (Tempest comes to mind). But most of us would rather stack the odds in favor of us walking home with lotsa dollaz. And choosing a boyish name will often get in the way of you and making more dollaz.

You'll just have to work harder than the other girls to establish the camaraderie that comes with trust (which begins to be established during introductions). If your first few lines of conversation feel inauthentic to the customer (i.e. introducing yourself using an obviously fake name), you're already starting to get in the way of your own success.

dani is okay, I hate frankie, it sounds so ugly and masculine. some unisex/boy names are cute but frankie is not one of them. there are so few redheads, especially natural in natural shades even tho its not very extreme and can look very feminine like emma stone or nicole kidman. I would actually dye mine now but im terrified it would never rinse out.

hair color is almost non important, what is much more important is style (80s prom curls are not in) and of course your face and body. less is more imo, just do a nice base and some eyeliner and fake eyelashes and youre done. dont match your shadow to your thong and then get sparkly lashes too. look at a cover of a teen vogue or something similar and youll understand what you should start out with.

Do you guys think Chrissy is too.. 80's cute, or do you think it'll work okay? I think I'm just gonna go with that.

Now, I love my red hair, I wanna keep the color, only problem is whether to keep my curls since they make my hair so short.
It's just long enough to touch my collarbones when I get out if the shower and after styling.
Is that something a lot of people still find sexy? Or should I go get some extensions and/or a flat iron?

Thanks, guys, I know I'm asking a lot of questions.

^That sounds perfect!! Sexy and sweet, but not overly exotic.

If I had red hair, I'd straighten it. Otherwise I'm afraid I'd get "orphan Annie" comments constantly.

I personally *love* girls with that soft wave. Maybe you can experiment with loosening the curls a bit? There's a natural redhead at the club I'm auditioning at with hair like that. I couldn't keep my eyes off of her!
