My big exciting audition is tomorrow. I've already talked to a manager to get all the details (super nice guy, btw) and explained that I will be having surgery to correct capsular contracture in my left breast in a few weeks. He understands that I will be unavailable to work for several weeks after that. But, something occurred to me today... what about the environment inside the club during the weeks leading up to my surgery? We're talking a max of 6-7 days worked between now and then, but still... Aaaaaalll those germs... is any amount of hand washing & sanitizer enough to keep me from getting sick before the surgery? There is suspicion that infections of any kind (bacterial, viral, fungal) can cause the very condition I'm having surgery to correct.
Also, the second-hand smoke...??? I remember my doc saying that you should quit smoking at least a month before surgery to be sure everything heals right. I don't smoke, but isn't all that second-hand stuff just as bad?
I can't contact my doc before my audition tomorrow, or I would. I'd like to be able to discuss my availability with management *when* I am hired tomorrow (how about that confidence???)
More than all of that, i'd like to be able to take advantage of the shifts I am available to work, and make aaaaallll dat monay!
But, of course, I don't want to risk jeapordizing the results of this very important surgery.
Thoughts from you lovelies?
